If you are in the market for a tablet, the new Amazon Fire HD 8 is a great tablet at an affordable price. The new fire tablet is equipped with the latest Fire OS, which is now 30% faster. The charger is now USB C, and it will fully charge in 5 hours. This device is from our list of Best Tablets with other similar devices such as the Fire HD 10 tablet.

Why We Like It – Amazon Fire HD 8 Review

The Amazon Fire HD 8 is the perfect companion for someone that enjoys streaming, gaming, and working on a higher quality level. This tablet is packed with either 32gb or 64gb of storage; it is all up to you. The fact that it can expand up to 1TB is insane, it will take a long time to fill that up. This is the prime example of an optimal tablet with a budget price.

Pros
  • Game Mode
  • Dual Speakers
Cons
  • No Google Play

Performance

While you are out and about, expect the battery life on this device to hold up to 12 hours. When it is time to charge, you can plug it in using the new USB C charger or use a wireless charging dock. The quad core installed is a faster processor, so whether you are streaming some Amazon Prime Video or downloading an app in the Amazon app store it will go smoothly.

Design

The new Fire HD tablet has an 8-inch screen to view your favorite shows or games. There is now a game mode, and show mode that helps the tablet maximize the quality of your content. It has the usual back and front cameras. The camera quality won’t be as good as the Apple iPad 10.2-Inch tablet, but it will get the job done. If you had to choose between all the new Fire tablets, this is a great choice because it has higher quality specs for a little more money. A great tablet has a hands-free stand for landscape mode gaming or viewing. For such a tablet, view our Amazon fire 7 review.

Value

One sure miss with this particular tablet series is that the Google play store is not available. This heavily limits the number of apps that you can download on this Amazon tablet since their app store isn’t an expansive as the Google play store. A device like the Samsung Galaxy Tab A T580 tablet would be a better choice if you would like to keep using the Google Play Store.
At least you still enjoy a hands-free experience with Alexa while maneuvering through the tablet.

Amazon Fire HD 8 Review Wrap Up

The Fire HD 8 tablet is the optimal choice for someone on a budget because whether you are streaming videos or playing games, the tablet has precise modes that will make it a rich experience. Take a chance on this tablet, hook it up to some wi fi, and get to work on filling up that expandable 1TB storage.
