Hidden Doors and Secret Passageways are always a cool amenity to any house. Not only does provide mystery to your living quarters, but it also allows for a bit of privacy. Hidden doors and secret passageways seem to be a popular room addition since there are numerous home security companies on the web who specialize in such requests, like The Hidden Door Company, Creative Home Engineering and Hide A Door. Of course, you can easily get the typical hidden door in a bookcase, but we’ve found some pretty interesting ones below!
20. Mirror Secret Door
This one is crazy! It looks like a regular wall-mounted mirror, but it slides open to reveal a whole other room!

This is one of the most famous hidden doors in history (at least to us). Anne Frank and her family were able to hide from Nazis during WWII for up to two years due to a hidden apartment behind a bookcase. This secret back door is one of the most monumental in our history.
Although it’s not as original as some of the other hidden doors, it still pretty cool since it looks like a real bookcase that holds all sorts of random crap, but opens to a room. The above picture is one girl’s secret study room.

This is seriously something out of the game Clue! Now, we just have to figure out who the murderer is and what weapons they used…

The best hidden doors aren’t even there to the naked eye, just like this one that looks like it’s part of the wall, but opens to what seems like a rest room.
The Spiral Cellars design firm have built a hidden win cellar under a mat, complete with a spiral staircase that goes underground.

This regular, fully functional wine rack has a secret door that leads to an entirely mysterious room.

The stone wall looks like any regular wall, but behind it is another room that you would have never thought was there!
To the average eye, the painting looks as if it’s merely on the wall, but to the person living in the house, it’s a doorway to another room!
It’s straight out of the Narnia novels where the wardrobe opens to reveal a secret room (or world)!

It features a programmable scrolling LED sign built into the top of the frame and functions like a ticket booth, complete with recessed lighting.
