This ceiling fan duster extends up to 54 inches in length, which is the longest out of any of the dusters on our list. And what’s more, you can even rotate the dusting microfibre head in an impressive 270 degree range for even more versatility. This pick is definitely the best duster with extension pole that you can buy.

This OXO duster also lives true to its Good Grips name through its ergonomic, non-slip handle, which comes in very handy while fully extended. Like our top pick, the OXO extendable duster’s head can be fully removed for washing when needed. This one tended to get a bit dirtier quicker than our other options, but that may be because we were dusting areas that don’t get dusted very often. Overall, this is a very high-quality duster that is the perfect addition to any cleaning supply. Along with the best cleaning cloths, a duster can work wonders.

#3  Relentless Drive Ultimate Car Duster – Best Car

  • Sometimes unravels after heavy, prolonged use
  • Expensive

[/su_list][/su_box][/su_column]
[/su_row]

One of the Relentless Drive Ultimate’s best features is its high-quality construction and design. When you first hold it, you’ll notice that it carries a certain weight to it that makes it feel sturdy and reliable. This is due in part to its extendable steel handle, but also to the thick, chenille microfiber fingers. With these components, you can be sure this car duster will last you a long time.

Chenille microfiber is better than the traditional microfiber because it’s more plush and lessens the risk for scratching your car’s delicate surfaces. It’s also streak free, which can be rare to find in car dusters. Unfortunately, we did notice some unraveling after some heavier and prolonged usage, but for day-to-day use, there shouldn’t be a problem. You also get a mini duster included with your purchase, which is nice for quick dusting sessions on the go. Speaking of cleaning, the best all purpose cleaner will make cleaning easy.

#4  OXO Good Grips Microfiber Delicate Duster – Best Delicate

WHY WE LIKE IT: The OXO Good Grips Microfiber Delicate Duster is one of the more unique dusters on our list in the fact that it closely resembles a traditional feather duster. This design makes it an excellent choice for cleaning delicate items like antiques and picture frames.

  • Catches on sharp edges
  • Some strand shedding

[/su_list][/su_box][/su_column]
[/su_row]

The OXO Good Grips Microfiber Delicate Duster is the best duster for chandelier, antiques, picture frames, light fixtures and other items without moving them or knocking them down. With its washable microfiber strand design, this delicate duster performs better than feather duster by capturing more dust in nooks and crannies. Just be careful around sharp edges since the microfiber strands tend to get caught.

Like the other OXO Good Grips dusters on our list, the Delicate Duster’s head can pop off to be washed, but this model features a push button design to release the head instead of a snap button. This push button design is much better than the snap button because it’s more durable and easier to use. Overall, if you need a duster for delicate items, the OXO Good Grips Delicate Duster is an excellent and reliable choice. You may also want to check out the best window cleaning kit.

  • No handle included
  • Constant refills can get expensive

[/su_list][/su_box][/su_column]
[/su_row]

Swiffer Dusters Refills are some of the most popular disposable dusters available today, and it’s really easy to see why. They excel at cleaning up dust, but do even better when it comes to hair, dirt and pet dander. In our testing, they even beat out microfiber cloths at picking up these things.

The Swiffer Dusters Refills don’t include a handle, so you’ll need to purchase a handle in order to best use them, and if you dust a lot, buying constant refills can get a little expensive. However, we can’t deny that the Swiffer Dusters are well worth the cost when it comes to their cleaning prowess, especially with delicate items. As is the best mop.

  • Only good for dusting blinds
  • Cloth can sometimes slide off the arm

[/su_list][/su_box][/su_column]
[/su_row]

Dusting blinds can be a hassle, especially when using a standard dust cloth. It can be difficult to reach in between the individual slats with just a cloth. This is where the Hiware Window Blind Duster Brush comes into play. With a unique, three-bladed design, you can easily clean two slats at a time by pinching the brush blades together. The Hiware duster is incredibly easy to use and features impressive cleaning performance. With cleaning convenient, there’s no more reason to hesitate to buy the best window shades.

Removing the microfiber cloths to clean is really easy as well. You only need to slide them off the blades and throw them in the wash. Unfortunately, these cloths can sometimes slide off the blades during use, which can get a little frustrating. You get a total of five different microfiber cloths with your purchase, which is another plus. Because of its unique design, the Hiware Window Blind Duster Brush is the best duster for blinds by far. The best shop cloth is great for other areas.

#7  Relentless Drive Ultimate Dash Duster – Best for Blinds

WHY WE LIKE IT: The Relentless Drive Ultimate Dash Duster features a heavy-duty build and large brush head for a more comprehensive clean in both your car and home. It also features a unique dual-sided brush head that you can use to clean different surfaces with ease.

How We Decided

As we researched and tested the wide variety of dusters available today, we specifically measured each product first on its effectiveness for clearing and retaining dust so we didn’t have to use a vacuum to clean up any leftovers. We favored dusters that could clear a good amount of dust away in a single swipe without us needing to go back over a second time. In this sense, we were most impressed with microfiber dusters the most since they combine the performance and functionality of both a duster and microfibre cloth.

Related: To keep your window blinds, shutters, and ceiling fans clean, use the best dusters blinds ceiling fans.

We also looked for dusters that were built well enough to last for several years, if not longer. While you aren’t necessarily exerting a lot of force on your duster, you’re still going to be removing the duster portion of the product for washing or switching out disposable pads and if the duster isn’t durable, it’s very possible to break the handle. We also considered the durability of moving parts like expandable or flexible handles. We scored dusters with strong moving parts higher on our list.

Duster Buying Guide

The Most Important Features to Consider

  1. Type of Duster
Dusters are such simple cleaning tools that it may come to a surprise that there are several different types of dusters you can use. These all have their own pros and cons and some even have very specific use cases, but for the most part, all will clear the dust away from your home just fine.

    • Microfiber – These are the best kind of dusters because they feature a natural static charge that attracts and holds dust with ease. Microfiber is always incredibly reusable. Simply throw it in the wash and dry it to be able to use it again.
    • Feather – Feather dusters used to be the go-to way of dusting back in the old days, but they’re still used today. However, the only feather duster you should ever use is ostrich feathers, which actually capture dust, unlike other kinds of feathers. These can get really expensive, though, so keep that in mind.
    • Wool – Like feather dusters, wool dusters use a combination of natural fibers and static electricity to pick up and lock dust in place. Wool dusters are also typically very soft, making them ideal for dusting antiques or other delicate items.
    • Compressed Air – Compressed air comes in a can and doesn’t look like any of the dusters above. Rather than capturing dust, compressed air blows it out of hard-to-reach spots like keyboards and other indents in electronic devices. You can then use another type of duster to clean the dust up.
  2. Design
While there are plenty of different kinds of dusters, there are also tons of different designs that each serve a specific purpose. Before you buy a new duster, consider the type of dusting you need to do. Are you trying to reach tight spaces? Do you need expandability? Or are you just looking for a good all-around duster that works well in most situations? Buy a duster that is designed in a way that gives you the most access to areas you need to clean.
  3. Reusability
Whether you’re dusting once a month or once a week, you know it’s going to be a recurring activity. This is why it’s important to consider how reusable your duster is. If you’re using a cloth duster, it can typically be washed and reused an unlimited number of times. However, there are plenty of disposable duster options, as well, which are great for quick dusting touch ups right before you have guests over. You should also consider the duster’s overall durability at the same time. If your duster breaks or wears out after a couple cleaning sessions, it just becomes a waste or money.

Duster FAQs

Do dusters really work?

Yes, the best dusters really do work to tackle the dust throughout your home! Of course, there are some dusters on the market today that do more harm than good, which is why Gadget Review has done the work finding the best dusters for you.

Are lambswool dusters good?

Yes, lambswool dusters are good, but they aren’t as good as microfiber dusters. The lambswool has a natural static similar to microfiber that traps and holds dust, but microfiber does it better. We recommend choosing a microfiber option over a lambswool duster.

Are dusters lint free?

The best microfiber dusters are absolutely lint free or else they wouldn’t be very useful to you. Again, cheaper brands may not be lint free so it’s important that you stick to well known brands that offer a tried and true lint-free dusting experience.
