The Yokohama AVID Ascend Radial Tire dry traction and steering response is very good and beats most similar tires in this category such as the Goodyear Wrangler Radial Tire 75R15. This tire gives a nice, quiet ride, and a solid tread design that provides confidence when accelerating but more importantly when braking. Steering response is excellent, and so is cornering and stability it’s surprising it’s not on our Best All Season Tires guide. Keep reading to see how it stacks up against some of the best tires around and why it is recommended for lots of vehicles.

Why We Like It – Yokohama AVID Ascend Radial Tire

The Yokohama AVID Ascend Radial Tire is a very good Touring All Season tire. It scores very well in all categories including dry, wet, and light snow traction. When pushed very aggressively in wet conditions around corners it does slip a little bit, but that isn’t surprising with most all season tires when driven hard.

Pros
  • Steering response
  • Very good dry traction
  • Very smooth and quiet ride
Cons
  • Wet traction could be slightly better

Performance

As a tutoring tire it comes as little surprise to have a higher than average speed rating paired with a long tread life is a rather unique offer coming from Yokohama Tires. Dry wet they mean little to such high speed rated tires, giving a more comfortable and a higher fuel efficiency to your ride then the Milestar MS932 Season Radial Tire 205 despite the rolling resistance.
