The Michelin Pilot Sports A/S 3+ UHP all-season tire is built for drivers of sports cars, coupes and sedans who are looking to get more dry and wet traction, cornering grip and performance from their tires. Though if you’re looking for something else maybe you’ll find it on our Best All Season Tires It will at the least point you to a good brand. This tire is suitable for lots of vehicles, that’s one of the reasons it is so appealing. Keep reading to learn more.

Why We Like It – Michelin Pilot Sports A/S 3+

The Michelin Pilot Sports A/S 3+ uses a Helio+ compound that is also infused with higher amounts of silica, which is matched up to an aggressive asymmetric tread pattern for enhanced year round dry and wet traction and handling. Michelin’s Variable Contact Patch 3.0 technology reduces heat distortion and combines with the tread design for increased cornering grip and responsiveness throughout the speed range. This is a major strength for the A/S 3+. If you’re a spirited driver, you will enjoy the handling and grip this tire provides.

Pros
  • Cornering grip and stability
  • Outstanding dry and wet traction
  • Treadlife
Cons
  • High price tag

Performance

Is calling these tires the best tires hyperbolic, well maybe but what can be said without any doubts is the all year round performance of the tires make them good summer tires rain or shine, but it’s not the dry grip you’ll relay be all that worried about as things are a little simpler under dry conditions. Snow traction is where the tires michelin made particularly the A/S 3+ shine compared to competitors like the Goodyear Wrangler Radial Tire 75R15 or the Bridgestone Potenza, both have problems gripping the road in light snow but not the A/S 3+ with it’s variable thickness providing the most grip.

Design

Maintaining the common radial construction of modern tires the Michelin Pilot Sports A/S 3+ still manages to make a ultra high performance regardless if you’re using dry braking or wet brakes. The tread compound being made of an advanced silica is otherwise inditigwiable to an ordinary tire as won’t stand out if you’re just looking for a quick replacement. Tread life varies person to person as far as time goes but the mileage and speed rating is the same as the Milestar MS932 Sport Season Radial.

Value

While the tire size a has a wind number of cheaper competitors like the Milestar MS932 Season Radial Tire 205 few of them share the high year round season performance like the Michelin Pilot Sports A/S 3+ though it’s only up for you to decide if paying so much more is worth it.

Michelin Pilot Sports A/S 3+ Wrap Up

If it wasn’t for the high cost i’d be an easy recommendation considering all the benefits and the safety it provides during winter it might be worth the extra cost over the cheaper tires that might leave you sliding into something on the ice or snow.
