Performance

At its base, the Tommaso Imola Endurance Road Bike comes with a 6061 aluminum frame that is both lightweight and strong. It comes with a endurance type design as the name suggests and with its top tube angled in the direction of the seat post makes sure that you ride with a better posture and performance. The tube even comes completely hydroformed which adds to the overall stylish look of the bike itself. As for the weight capacity of it, the Tommaso Imola can hold up against 230lbs of weight, but if you are over 230 pounds but still under 300, make sure you use 32 spoke wheels instead of the usual 20 on the front and 24 on the back. Speaking of the wheels, Tommaso provides you with some pretty good tires to cover them up, which are the Kenda K152 with a width of 700x25c. They will provide a good amount of traction for both road and city biking, but if you are to change the tires make sure that their widths are within the maximum limit recommended by Tommaso, which is 700x28c.

Coming back to the fork used in the Imola Road Bike, you get a stainless steel fork which although heavier than aluminum will dampen the vibrations during riding to a much better extent. As for the heavier weight you get, the stainless steel only adds up around a pound which is a good compromise to make for the better shock reduction. And if you’re wondering about carbon forks, well while they are included in more expensive Tommaso Bikes, they’re much more expensive to use which would have a greater effect on the price.

Furthermore, the Tommaso Imola Endurance Aluminum Road Bike comes with a groupset which is a complete Shimano Claris groupset, providing you with a much more easy process during maintenance. Unlike other bikes like the Mongoose Dolomite Mountain Bike or even the Schwinn Loop Folding Bike, having a groupset from the same manufacturer allows you to get parts more easily in a much cheaper way that too at a better quality. It even makes sure that all parts are compatible without much of an issue. Additionally, although the Claris groupset is an entry level one for road bikes, it does provide you with a better performance than the much cheaper Tourney components which aren’t meant for road biking. Now to move on to the components themselves, we have the Shimano Claris Drivetrain which comes with a 11-28T cassette with 8 gears which paired with the 30/39/50T triple crankset makes for 24 different combinations of speeds. This is up to par with the SixThreeZero Around the Block Bikes highest variation and gives you the flexibility to easily switch between gears for different inclines of roads and even a bit of light racing.

Racing is where the Tommaso Imola Endurance Aluminum Road bike falls behind. It’s parts being made for beginners won’t hold up against the roughest of uses, this includes the 20-mm rim profile V-brakes which although provide a solid amount of stopping power, don’t make for the best performance during serious racing. But, this is greatly understandable considering the price and how the Tommaso Imola Endurance Aluminum Road Bike was meant to be for beginners. If you’re someone in search of a bike with disc brakes, the Mongoose Dolomite comes with rear disc brakes at a much cheaper price.

Speaking of that, the Imola comes with a seat of a mountain bike which makes it comfortable for those just starting out while the flat pedals help with building up your strength. And once you’ve used them for a considerable amount of time you can easily upgrade it like the rest of the bike. Aside from that, you get some pretty high quality handles like other

, which provide you with a good amount of ergonomics for more comfortable and better riding.

Finally, when it comes to the set up, as there are many reviews saying that the tires and wheels tend to have come damaged, try to contact for a replacement, and when you do get it in good shape, Tommaso has advised people to get it tuned up by a professional bike mechanic. This may seem like a hassle unlike the SixThreeZero Bike’s set up, but once you get past it, the Tommaso Imola bike will definitely make for a great riding experience.

Design

Offering one of the best fitting choices, the Tommaso Imola Endurance Aluminum Road Bike comes with a number of options ranging from XXS size, all the way up to an XL size. The sizes range depending on the rider height starting with a 4 feet 9Inch to 5 feet 1Inch range for the XXS and moving upto 6feet 2Inches to 6feet 5Inches for the XL size. This provides you with a great amount of compatibility person to person like many of the other bikes Tommaso has released. You can also check out our Tern Joe D24 review for a foldable bike that can fit in most compact places.

Other than that, the Tommaso Imola Endurance Aluminum Bike also comes in three different colours for you to choose from: black, burnt orange and white, each giving your new bike a great stylish look. And for those who are looking for a bike to upgrade, the Tommaso Imola Endurance allows you to change all of the components according to your needs, it’s only drawback being that it’s slightly, very slightly heavier than some other bikes. The weight comes up at around 23.6 lbs for the small size, which is actually more than acceptable and not much of a compromise for someone just starting road biking.

Value

Priced at around $850, the Tommaso Imola Endurance Bike is much more expensive than the SixThreeZero Around the Block bike and also the Mongoose Dolomite Mountain bike. It most certainly isn’t meant to be a casual bike. But for a road bike, the Tommaso Imola is actually among a very affordable price range, providing you with a durable and simultaneously well performing bike. It is comfortable and also easily upgradable, and so all considering, the Tommaso Imola Bike is a great road bike with a great value. However, if any of the parts do come damaged, try to get a replacement, rather than paying for extra parts yourself. Our Bike2power bikecharge power pack review also highlights an important accessory that you can use to charge your phone while cycling.

Tommaso Imola Endurance Aluminum Road Bike Wrap Up

While it may not be the best road bike out there or the most affordable bike one can get, the Tommaso Imola Endurance Aluminum Road Bike acts as a pretty great gateway for those interested in starting road biking. It comes with all the things a road bike requires, ranging from 24 different speed combinations as well as some pretty good tires, which along with the rest of the bike are easily upgradable. And although, you may have to go to a professional bike mechanic for the initial tuning, for the great compatibility and price you’re getting this at, the Tommaso Imola Endurance Road Bike is still one of the best road bikes you can get for the money.
