The SwagTron EB5, the Best Folding Electric Bike arrives fully assembled and ready to go, eliminating the need for an hour or two of assembly before becoming roadworthy. This ebike also features a unique tri fold design, allowing it to fold in on itself in multiple layers when not in use. In other words, this ebike can fit just about anywhere once it is fully folded. The EB5 is also among the best electric bikes you can afford, due to the push from SwagTron in making it quality and inexpensive in nature.

Why We Like It – SwagTron EB5

The SwagTron EB5 arrives fully assembled and ready to hit the road, with a unique tri fold design that allows it to fit in ultra compact spaces when not in use and proprietary autoguard technology that adds another layer of safety to the braking process.

Pros
  • Quick-disconnect power lines for easy maintenance
  • Tri-fold design for extreme portability
  • Autoguard technology disengages motor when braking
Cons
  • Gets 15 miles on a single charge and takes over 6 hours to charge
  • Push-button ignition is convenient, but a key would be safer

Durability & Build Quality

The SwagTron Swagcycle EB5 has a strong aluminum build with a big red button that lets you activate the powered part of this E Bike, the pedal assist will then start to aid you as soon as you either pedal or use the handle bar throttle. Though the seat height can be adjusted it will leave you with an upright posture rather than a lean forward like you might find on a racing bike. For a bike that is built for the outdoors, check out the Swagtron eb8 review.

Performance (Speed & Acceleration)

With a max power assist pedaling speed of 15mph that means the battery life is about an hour of use which is shorter than many other foldable electric bikes like the Ancheer Folding Bike. You should also take time to explore other foldable bikes. Start off with this Swagcycle pro folding electric bike review.

Range & Battery

The lithium ion battery pack does only get around 15 miles of use on a single charge, and it takes quite a long time to reach a maximum charge, roughly six hours. That said the push button ignition here is extremely convenient, but requiring a key would deter theft.

Safety features

Reviewers seemed to love the quick disconnect power lines, which makes maintenance a breeze, and the included autoguard technology, which works in tandem with the disc brakes to provide a safe and stable braking process like the Aceshin 26 offers.

Value

The EB5 Pro is a fine example when it comes to cheap E bikes with it’s electric power being capable but not stand out compared to a bike like the eAhora X7 Plus Folding Electric Bike that can reach higher speeds for longer.

SwagTron EB5 Wrap Up

At the end of the day the only concerns are the inability to prevent the bike being started by anyone who walks by the bike due to the button and the second is the amount of use the battery actually provides but both of these brobles can be solved by removing the battery or carrying a spare with you.
