Performance

The DSCW800 has mid-level performance expected from a camera in this price range. The W800 features a 20.1-megapixel camera with a CCD sensor type. This black Sony camera excels at taking photos, as well as 1280 x 720 HD video recording. It also has a 5x digital zoom for those close up shots, as well as an Easy Mode with large icons. Unfortunately, the Sony W800 lacks Wi-Fi, but it has a slot for a memory stick. If you need better performance capabilities, we would recommend the Canon Powershot SX530.

Design

On nearly every digital camera black is the standard color. The W800 also shakes things up a bit with the option of silver. The W800 came out a few years ago, but it still looks classy. The compact design can easily fit into your pocket, and all the buttons are intuitive and easy to use. The shutter control button is big enough to find without looking, and there’s also a dedicated button for recording. At the rear is a decent 2.7-inch screen. The Canon Powershot ELPH is a great alternative if you need something even smaller

Value

The Sony DSCW800 is one of the cheapest cameras on the market and ideal for beginner photographers. The camera provides enough features to justify the price such as 5x optical zoom, a 20.1-megapixel camera, Sweep Panorama Mode, and HD video recording. For a budget camera, the pictures are clear during the day and at night. It’s also easy to carry anywhere due to its compact size and has a user-friendly menu. Unfortunately, the W800 doesn’t have a front-facing camera like the Yisence Waterproof Camera.

Sony DSCW800 Wrap Up

The Sony DSCW800 is a compact and affordable camera with some excellent features. Its drawbacks are that it has no Bluetooth or Wi-Fi capability. It still takes great pictures and has a memory card for storage. This camera is perfect for people on the go, or for people wanting to get into photography.
