The best iPad case knows how to ride. Selling a few iPad cases here and there is one thing, but hocking them in mass, to well, the masses, is an entirely different game.  As a result, companies without big media budgets and a massive brand have to get creative with their marketing.  Case in point is Sofshell.

Last night they sent us a video of an iPad resting on the back of a Porsche Boxster while driving at 60mph down a highway without straps or any restraints to keep it securely in place.  What happens?  Needless to say the iPad stays in place and returns home safely.  How?  They makes an iPad case that uses a proprietary elastomer.  The company says that it “outperforms Silicone, Neoprene, Rubber, Thermoplastic Urethane (TPU) and plastic cases. In fact, SofShell provides super anti-slip protection on angles up to 70˚.”

It’s a pretty rad way to show off the stickiness of their product.  They also told us that it reduces shock to the iPad by up to 43% in the event that it does slip or drop to the floor.

In terms of practical applications, were thinking that you could slap this thing on the dash of your car, though we have to question how well it will stick to the material found on dashes, which is often porous in nature, at least by comparison to that of metal and paint, as found on the back of this Porsche.

Interested? You can pick one up for $49.50.
