If you’re tired of hearing interference from your audio cable, the best AUX cable might just be the Sabrent 3.5mm Male-to-Male Aux Cable. Fitted with dual shielding, this gold plated premium auxiliary car stereo audio jack is built to send your favorite tunes with as little signal loss as possible. Pair these cables up with a new home audio device from our best home theater systems list.

Why We Like It – Sabrent 3.5mm Male-to-Male Aux Cable

Fitted with a step-down design and dual-shielding, the Sabrent 3.5mm Male-to-Male Aux Cable can introduce good sound quality while neutralizing signal loss.

Pros
  • Dual-shielding reduces audio interference
  • Step-down design; can fit devices with cases
  • Lifetime warranty
Cons
  • Only 1 ft. & 3 ft. variants
  • So-so quality

Performance

The Sabrent 3.5mm Gold Plated Premium Auxiliary Male Aux Cable Step Down Designed 3-feet CB AUX1 is riding the train of performance more than anything. However, it isn’t audio performance that banks on the most, but rather its connection. Is audio sound good? Not as good as, say, the iVanky Auxiliary Compatible Headphone Speaker, but its 24K gold plated contacts ensure you’re getting a clean sound. This is in addition to its dual-shielding, which acts to reduce or outright eliminate audio interference such as humming or hissing. For a great amplifier device, check out our ROCKI PLAY review.

Design

If there’s anything the Sabrent 3.5mm Male-to-Male Aux Cable could do better is with its design. Overall its durability is so-so, specifically the covering over the wires. We would’ve loved to have a double braided nylon coating, like the Oldboytech Auxiliary Braided Compatible Headphones. Fortunately, that doesn’t stop the aux cable from its plug play audio nature. The step-down design adds a bit of length to the connector, allowing it to reach compatible 3.5mm aux ports through MP3 cases and such. And yes, it does have universal compatibility with the majority of MP3 players, car stereos, smartphones, and so on. Value

You can pick up the Sabrent 3.5mm Male-to-Male Aux Cable for just $6, which is a nice budget price. Given its solid audio performance and so-so durability, we would say that’s a fair price. However, Sabrent doesn’t offer many length options; you get 1 ft. or 3 ft., and both are priced the same. To sweeten the deal, you do get a lifetime warranty. But if you prefer a brand with a bit more recognition, we suggest the Anker Premium Auxiliary Headphones iPhones. It too is $6 and a step up above in terms of performance and quality. It’s also 4 ft. long.

Sabrent 3.5mm Male-to-Male Aux Cable Wrap Up

The Sabrent 3.5mm Male-to-Male Aux Cable can’t match toe to toe in terms of durability to any of our top entries. Audio quality could use some work too but is otherwise good enough. What it does best is keep that audio consistent and clean—next to no hissing or humming. And its step-down design means it’s interchangeable with devices that are wearing cases.
