Performance

Having 2000Pa of suction power was what really clarified the difference between the Roborock S5 Robot Vacuum and Mop, and the EUFY BoostIQ RoboVac 11S, the best on our list. The EUFY couldn’t hold a candle. With the help of side brushes, the S5 combined its powerful suction to sweep in dirt, debris, and dust every time, with a sizable dust bin to boot. What makes it stand apart from robot vacuums such as Ecovacs DEEBOT N79S and ILIFE V3s Pro is its ability to mop floors. Yes, a robot vacuum that mops floors, and can immediately jump into action when there’s a mess.

Then there’s the Mi Home app. Its interface is really intuitive. With it, you can create no-go zones, as well as cleaning zones. The robot vacuum can save the layout of your home, and create zones. You can then set the vacuum to clean only those selected zones. It also has smart home integration with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, providing voice commands on the spot.

Design

The Roborock S5 Robot Vacuum and Mop fits its performance in a small shell, measuring 13.8 x 13.7 x 3.8 inches. Its powerful 2000Pa suction is kept sealed in, even when venturing to a higher and lower level, by keeping low to the ground. That also helps when cleaning under chairs and couches. When mopping, you insert the mop attachment and fill the water tank. Set the cleaning mode to “Mopping” and it’s ready to go.

Value

When you look at the price tag, you will immediately raise an eyebrow. A robot vacuum cleaner priced at $510? That seems steep. Quite frankly, it is. Step back for a moment and realize what this roomba is: it’s a mobile vacuum cleaner and mop that operates all on its own. Its performance is some of the best we’ve seen, and none of our top three robot vacuums even mop. Is it expensive? Yes. In return, you save so much time. And in this day and age, time is invaluable. It’s still cheaper than a Neato Botvac.

Roborock S5 Robot Vacuum and Mop Review Wrap Up

The bottom line is this: the Roborock S5 Robot Vacuum and Mop is one of the best robot vacuums we’ve seen, outclassing other vacuums on our list. It does come with a heavy cost; $510 isn’t cheap. In return, you get a powerful robot vacuum that’s excellent on hard floors, hard floors, and pet hair—and will mop when necessary with real-time monitoring.
