Performance
The Ecovacs robotic vacuum does an admirable job as a vacuum cleaner and picks up dirt and dust from hard floors and short-carpet floors well. The two side brushes, located at the bottom of the device, aid in cleaning by brushing the dirt toward the vacuum itself. However, this also means it doesn’t perform well on longer carpets and will become frenzied fast. If your home, or the room you’re cleaning, is mostly carpet the Eeufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S contains a power suction mode, that the Ecovacs robot vacuum cleaner doesn’t, that is designed for cleaning carpet.

Design
Similar to the Neato Botvac D7 Connected, the DEEBOT N97S is designed with app control which is quite easy to download and set up when you first purchase your device. When you open the app just select your DEEBOT N79S robotic vacuum and then select one of the four available cleaning modes. Auto Mode, which has the N97S robot clean in straight lines until it gets stuck and has to change directions, for example. The ILife V3s Pro comes with scheduled programming capabilities if you want your vacuum to clean without you having to think about it. A fifth button tells the Ecovacs DEEBOT to return to the charging dock. The vacuum also comes with a remote control, which works identical to the app, if you’re more comfortable controlling the vacuum with that instead.
Value
One of the best reasons to buy this robotic vacuum cleaner is the integration it has with Amazon Alexa. “Alexa, ask DEEBOT to clean,” or a similar command will cause the Ecovacs Robotics vacuum cleaner to start cleaning almost immediately. However, if you try and use google assistant to control your Ecovacs DEEBOT N97S you will start running into problems. It will take more than one attempt to get the robot vacuum to listen to google. The iRobot Roomba 675 is capable of understanding google assistant so consider it if Google Home is your smart home assistant of choice.

Ecovacs DEEBOT N79S Wrap Up
The Ecovacs DEEBOT N97S robot vacuum knows its job and knows how to do it well. The preference for Alexa over Google is a little confusing given that Ecovacs would have a larger install base if it was integrated with both but it is what it is. Perhaps google will be integrated with their next installment of robotic vacuums.
