The Marmot limestone tent is a great tent for family camping. While it is on the heavier side, and not ideal for hiking/backpacking, it is a good tent for car camping. It comes with color coded poles for easy and stress-free assembly. The dual doors are a nice feature, with a full-size door on one side and a D-shaped door. There is a video that you can watch later about the tents highlighted features and why it is one of the best tents. While it comparable in size to the Nemo Equipment Losi Tent, it is more than twice the weight.
Why We Like It – Marmot Limestone 4P
This is a great tent if you are going family camping in the woods or open field. The shadow moss color is neutral enough not to absorb a lot of heat in the summer. As a car camping tent, it has an average rating since it is easy to assemble but on the expensive side.

Performance
The tent holds up nicely to rain and water, but is not entirely weatherproof like the Big Agnes Flying Diamond 8 that is considered a 4-season tent. The color coded poles make set up quite easy and it’s packed size is small enough for even an economy car. The velcro vents add additional airflow when needed to reduce the amount of built-up heat inside the tent. There is also a large vestibule area to store your wet or dirty gear.

Design
The vertical walls are made with pre-bend construction. This helps to give you the maximum amount of room in the tent. The floor fabric is waterproof and has a floor area of 59.7 square feet. In addition, the edges are seam taped to enhance the weatherproofing efforts put into the design. However, please try to not stretch the seams as it will reduce their structural integrity. Again, the color coded poles are a great feature, saving you time setting up your tent. The dual door is also a nice design feature.

Value
For a four person three-season tent, this tent is on the expensive side. Compared to the Kelty TN2 Tent, which can be used as a backpacking tent due to its lightweight construction, the tents are priced similarly. While it has some nice add on features, like the dual doors, the Marmot Limestone 4P is limited to car camping use and not intended for fluctuating weather conditions. Otherwise, the Marmot is a good tent for what you are getting if you are interested in making a long term investment.

While the Marmot Limestone 4P is not great when compared to the top three best tents, it does have some nice standout features. The color coded poles make set up easy, and the dual door is a feature typically found in more expensive tents. This tent is not intended for backpacking, nor is it an all weather tent, but it is ideal as a three season shelter.
