Performance
The JETech Wireless FM Transmitter is simple to use and requires minimal setup. It’s a playback device pure and simple, powered by the car charger via the power port in a vehicle (what was once known as the cigarette lighter). You can charge devices via the USB port located on the back of the power plug. Then simply insert the 3.5mm audio plug on the other end into the headphone jack on a device, tune your FM radio to an unused frequency (vacant FM frequencies vary by location) and set the JETech wireless FM transmitter to the same frequency. Easy peasy. You then hear audio stored on your device through your car speakers. Some complain that you cannot set the JETech wireless FM frequency lower than 88.1, where it is presumed most vacant FM channels exist in their location. Compatible with smartphones, iPods, tablets, MP3 or MP4 players, or any audio device with a 3.5mm headphone jack (or a 3.5mm dongle). Use your device as always for content/song selection, and control volume and sound using your audio system’s volume and tone controls as you normally do. Sound quality is excellent, although ultimately the quality of the sound you hear depends entirely upon the quality of your car’s audio system. Design
The JETech Wireless FM Transmitter is a very basic design. It is a very small wired device. Many like its simplicity and that it’s such a small transmitter radio car kit. It doesn’t stand out as a theft target inside a car and/or it’s easy to throw it in a glove box or center console. Its smallness makes it exceedingly portable –like carry in your pocket portable. There are wires when in use –from the power plug to the device, and a USB cable if you’re also charging– but you knew that going in. The cables of the JETech wireless FM transmitter radio are plenty long enough for all sorts of device placement options in a vehicle’s interior and are not obtrusive. You operate your device and car radio as you always would. The JETech car kit is not designed for hands free calling or anything like that (there is no built-in microphone).The single USB port (USB-A) is the bare necessity for charging. It’s not possible to use the JETech USB port to play audio files stored on a USB thumb drive. There also is no TF card slot. The JETech Wireless FM Transmitter is a bargain particularly if all you’re seeking is a simple wireless FM transmitter with good sound as an easy playback solution. If either the quality of Bluetooth connectivity is unacceptable, or for a myriad of other reasons the use of Bluetooth for wireless connectivity to an external audio device is undesirable, then using a JETech for wireless FM is perfect.
