You know that Bluetooth FM transmitters add wireless BT connectivity features (found in newer cars) to older vehicles –even ones that predate having any built-in Bluetooth capability. If putting one in your car is challenging because of the location of the power port, or you want one that isn’t so big that it dominates the car’s interior, then have a look at the Comsoon Bluetooth FM Transmitter for Car. Although not included in the Best Bluetooth FM Transmitter buyer’s guide, the Comsoon Bluetooth FM Transmitter for Car is nevertheless worth considering because of its super small size and its feature set.

Why We Like It – Comsoon Bluetooth FM Transmitter for Car

The Comsoon Bluetooth FM Transmitter for Car is extremely compact yet doesn’t scrimp on essential capabilities and features. Its ambient luminous light ring looks cool in any car interior.

Performance

The most noticeable aspect of the Comsoon Bluetooth FM Transmitter for Car is a blue ambient light ring glowing around the face of the unit when it’s plugged into the car power port (a.k.a. cigarette lighter). Looks cool but some find it too bright and wish there was a dimmer switch. The Comsoon car kit has two USB ports so you can charge 2 devices, or play music files from a USB flash drive while simultaneously charging a device. One of the USB ports supports safe charge with higher amperage to more quickly charge devices. You can also play audio files (MP3, WMA, WAV, FLAC, APE formats) stored on a TF card inserted into the card slot on the Comsoon. Setup is as straightforward as expected –pairing to a Bluetooth device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), and then tuning to an unused FM frequency. There’s no 3.5mm aux-in jack, so you’re outta luck if your device doesn’t support Bluetooth connectivity. Making hands free calls is also easy. Automatically switches back and forth from playing music to call mode –one button to answer/end calls. Built-in microphone with noise cancellation makes conversation clear. Sound quality was on par with listening to FM radio on a car stereo.

Design

The Comsoon Bluetooth FM Transmitter for Car design is very small. Basically the part the plugs into the power port with the controls housed on top. The whole thing is less than 3.5” long. The outward face of the Comsoon is a little bit bigger than a post-it note. Still, the tiny IMDEN Bluetooth FM Transmitter, voted #2 in the buyer’s guide, is slightly smaller. Very minimal display on the Comsoon as would be expected in something so tiny –just the frequency you’re using for the in-car FM transmitter and the vehicle battery voltage. No LCD screen such as on the Nulaxy Wireless Bluetooth Transmitter (No.1 in the Buyer’s Guide), but then again the Nulaxy has only one USB port. There is this interesting ambient blue light ring surrounding the face of the Comsoon that’s always on when it’s in use. No real purpose other than esthetics. Some love the appearance, some don’t (some complain it’s too bright in their car). A built-in microphone for hands free calling uses CVC (Clear Voice Capture) technology for noise suppression (likely CVC’s passive ambient noise cancellation part of the tech). Seems to help (subjective) but voice clarity ultimately depends upon the location of the Comsoon in the passenger cabin. Dual USB ports located on the face of the Comsoon are easy to access. One USB charging port has higher output (5V 2.4A) for faster charging (note that this is not the same thing as Quick Charge [QC] or Fast Charging which are proprietary USB charging protocols).

Value

The Comsoon Bluetooth FM Transmitter for Car is priced about the same as other FM transmitters, and is a bargain even though some others do offer fuller features. For example the lack of an aux-in jack on the Comsoon isn’t a deal breaker necessarily, unless of course you want to primarily use it with a playback device that doesn’t have Bluetooth. For comparison, if your car can accommodate it, check out the VicTsing Bluetooth Transmitter Wireless Hands Free, which has a 3.5mm aux-in jack and adds an LCD display.

Comsoon Bluetooth FM Transmitter for Car Wrap Up

The Comsoon Bluetooth FM Transmitter for Car is a cool little gadget to add modern wireless calling and Bluetooth audio features to your favorite car, truck, RV, boat, or whatever. If you drive for a living the Comsoon Bluetooth is so compact and portable that you can take it with you to work and turn any vehicle into a Bluetooth car with FM wireless playback.
