For those on the market for the best central vacuum with the most comprehensive package, the Hoover Vacuum Cleaner should be your go-to. Instead of just packaging the bagless upright vacuum cleaner, you get 7 tools, plus a 30-foot hose included in your purchase. It’s a good sign when canister vacuums come with everything you need to get started. For more vaccums with additional features, read our best vacuum cleaner reviews.

Why We Like It – Hoover Vacuum Cleaner

Designed for standing on floors or mounted to a nearby wall, the Hoover Vacuum Cleaner is one of the most comprehensive options, including 7 tools, along with a 30-foot hose.

Pros
  • Self-cleaning filter; no bag required
  • Includes 7 tools + 30ft hose
  • Can mount to walls
Cons
  • Doesn’t include a HEPA filter
  • Power cable is a little short

Power

Hoover Vacuums are packing a 10-amp motor, capable of providing enough suction power to pick up nails and similar objects in, say, your garage. It has 120 volts running through it, though this would be better spent on a 12-amp motor. It does not come with a HEPA filter, while the Prolux CV12000 does.

Speed & Efficiency

Since the Hoover Vacuum Cleaner isn’t a self-propelled vacuum, you’ll be the one either carrying the unit around or mounting it to a wall, and continue from there. Its suction power is well enough that, depending on the project, you won’t have to stand around too long.

Capacity & Maintenance

When it comes to handling a large amount of debris, the Hoover Vacuum Cleaner does really well, matching even the powerful Allegro MU4500 Champion. It can hold up to 5 gallons, more than you’d see with cordless stick vacuums. However, since this is a bagless vacuum, you’ll have to tend to its bin every so often to keep build-up at a minimum.

Durability

The unit itself is made of incredibly durable, heavy-duty steel. That alone gives it longevity. However, the tools themselves may feel a bit cheap. Even the best vacuum cleaners, like the Allegro MU4500 Champion, go ham on their unit, but cut back on the accessories.

Value

Considering the Hoover Vacuum Cleaner has great suction, it can be more than your go-to on bare floors—it’s just as capable when it comes to pet hair and carpets. So yes, it’s more than capable as a pet vacuum. Even some upright vacuums (like a Hoover Windtunnel), cordless vacuums, and robot vacuums struggle to match Hoover vacuum cleaners. Because of its performance and bevy of accessories included, it’s worth every penny, unlike the lack of tools the Prolux Vacuum offers.

Hoover Vacuum Cleaner Wrap Up

The Hoover Vacuum Cleaner offers one of the most comprehensive options when it comes to central vacuum units. It isn’t just the unit, but 7 additional accessories and the hose itself—all of which are priced at an affordable $377. You can mount it to a nearby wall and leave it there. And no bags required!
