The Honeywell HCM350W Germ Free Cool Mist Humidifier boasts incredible cleaning and sanitization power not really seen in other humidifiers but loses some points because it takes up too much space and is incompatible with essential oils. Why We Like It – Honeywell HCM350W Germ Free Cool Mist Humidifier

The Honeywell HCM350W Germ Free Cool Mist Humidifier boasts an impressive UV-Light that will sanitize 99.9% of germs in tap water before it gets to misting, a one gallon water tank so misting can go on for a while, and comes in back and white so you can pick the right style that goes with your decor.

Pros
  • Sanitizes 99.9% of Tap Water Germs
  • Clever, Can’t-See-the-Water-Tank, Design
  • Filters are Very Affordable
Cons
  • No Automatic Waterless Shut-Off
  • Large and Takes Up a lot of Space
  • Can’t Use Essential Oils

Performance

The Honeywell HCM250W Germ Free Cool Mist Humidifier comes with built in UV light technology that sanitizes 99.9% of bacteria in tap water. Ensuring tap water’s safe use eliminates the need for you to purchase distilled water, which saves you money, and gives you superior air quality because it’s not filled with germs. On the downside, it doesn’t have an automatic waterless shut-off which can cause damage if you’re not paying attention. A big oversight, take a look at the SUNLUNA SL AH001 Ultrasonic Humidifier Operation if an automatic shut-off is something you desire.

Design

The Honeywell HCM250W Germ Free Cool Mist Humidifier boasts a one gallon, or about 4 litre, water tank. This is about as good as you’re going to get for water storage in a humidifier, and is on par with our number one pick, the Homech Cool Mist Humidifier. Be aware that it is rather large and bulky and requires being plugged into an outlet. It’s probably better off on the floor rather than on a table or shelf. One fascinating feature is that, unless standing directly above it, the water tank is invisible. So if you have guests over, chances are they won’t be distracted by the amount of water in your tank or the possible dirt and mold growing inside if you forgot to clean it.

Value

The Honeywell HCM350W Germ Free Cool Mist Humidifier retails for $62.00 which is a fair price. I can’t shake this feeling that some of that is the Honeywell brand name though. It comes in two colours, black and white, which is a rarity in the humidifier world. You shouldn’t use essential oils with it, though, so check out Levoit Humidifiers if you do. The unit is easy to clean as it comes apart from the base to allow access to the bottom and inside. You will need to change filters, but considering you only really need to once a year, and that the filters cost a measly $10.00, it isn’t that big a deal. Speaking of fair price, a good skin moisturizer is just that, especially for dry skin. To see what we mean, check out our Jergens Ultra Healing Moisturizer Ounces review.

Honeywell HCM350W Germ Free Cool Mist Humidifier Wrap Up

Sometimes the little things make a product so good. With the Honeywell HCM450W it’s the affordable filters and clever design that make it so appealing. I will concede, however, that the lack of an automatic shut-off is a huge oversight. When you’re taking care of a baby the last thing on your mind is checking your humidifier to see if there’s water inside.
