Our best tabletop radio is the Panasonic RF-2400D, but that’s for AM / FM frequencies. If you’re looking to tap into digital frequencies, then the Grace Digital Mondo+ Classic is the modern radio you want.

Why We Like It – Grace Digital Mondo+ Review

The Grace Digital Mondo+ takes everything you love about radio and brings it into the 21st century. With built-in internet radio apps, you can listen to 100s of thousands of internet radio stations from around the world.

Performance

The Mondo+ Classic is awesome for everyone who loves listening to the internet radio and streaming from music apps. The radio connects to Wi-Fi and you can connect your device through Bluetooth and play music from your favorite apps (you can also use it with devices like Chromecast). The sound quality is pretty great considering the small size of the speaker.

Similar to the Avantree SP850 and the RunningSnail NOAA, the Mondo+ also functions as a clock radio. You can set your favorite radio station as your alarm clock which makes waking up much more pleasant than the standard, blaring alarm sounds. This is much unlike the Audioengine A2 and the Anker Soundcore, both of which are plain wireless speakers.

Design

Visually, the Mondo+ has the class and charm of a vintage radio. However, you won’t find an AM / FM radio station on this device. This modern day radio is ultimately designed to have easy access to internet radios, which it does. It also is great for streaming music from apps like Spotify. While you can control everything from your phone or the radio if you want, it also smartly has a remote control that you can use when you’re not in arm’s reach of the radio. Unlike the Amazon speakers that you can control with your voice, we take a look at the Amazon Echo 1.5 years later in our review.

Value

The price is a little steep here, but even competing Bluetooth-enabled radios like the Soundance SDY019 aren’t seamlessly set up for internet radio like the Mondo+ is. The sound here is also better. If you already have a subscription to satellite radio, like SiriusXM, then this radio becomes a much better value because it helps you bring it from your car into your home.

Grace Digital Mondo+ Review Wrap Up

The Grace Digital Mondo+ Classic has the price tag of a high-end radio like the Sangean WR-11 Wood Cabinet radio, but functions almost completely differently. This radio is totally designed to bring digital radio into your home, with the added benefit of being able to stream from your favorite music apps. It’s truly modern-day radio.
