When trying to use a projector, it can be rather daunting and frustrating to deal with the mess of cords and wires necessary for connection. Thanks to projectors like the Epson EX7240 Pro Wireless WXGA projector, though, this frustration is a thing of the past. Not only does this projector stream content straight from your device to your screen, it does so with wonderful white light output and color light output in WXGA resolution, making this one of our top choices for the best business projector.

Why We Like It – Epson EX7240

Epson projectors are some of the best, and the Epson EX7240 Pro Wireless Projector is no exception. With fabulous high color brightness, WXGA resolution, and ease of use, the Epson EX7240 Pro is an excellent choice for business professionals.

Pros
  • Super bright and accurate color light output
  • Automatic vertical keystone correction
  • Built-in wireless for quick and hassle-free streaming
Cons
  • Wireless connection is better suited to streaming presentations than video
  • Subpar built-in speakers

Performance/Resolution

The Epson EX7240 is a pro-quality projector with WXGA resolution: images are crisp and clear, and text is easy to read even in smaller sizes. Because of this, the Epson EX7240 is a wonderful projector for watching movies and TV, playing video games, and giving presentations. The performance does dip some when streaming content as opposed to using a wired connection, so this feature is better utilized in the classroom and boardroom than at home. When compared to less expensive projectors like the Epson VS250 or the Asus Zenbeam E1, the resolution on the EX7240 is far superior. Try the Vava 4K  projector with ALPD 3.0 Cinematic Technology and 60W Harman Kardon speakers to provide a genuine cinema experience in the comfort of your home.

Brightness/Lumens

Like the Epson VS250 and the Epson Home Cinema 1060, the Epson EX7240 boasts 3200 ANSI lumens of color brightness and white brightness. The brightness of the white light output and color light output makes it possible to watch content in spaces that aren’t completely dark, which makes this projector is a wonderful option for classrooms and business meetings. Some reviewers even claim the projections from the Epson EX7240 are still visible in bright spaces, something that not many budget-priced projectors can do. While some reviewers felt the projections did not have accurate color out of the box, this is easily adjustable. Moreover, you’re better off with this one as the Epson EF-100 isn’t that great concerning lumens.

Adjustability/Viewing Angle

The Epson EX7240 has automatic vertical keystone correction and manual horizontal keystone correction. According to reviews, both of these functions work quite well with no reports of issues with warped images. Both front and rear legs can be moved for minor adjustments, though some did find these legs to be less durable than desired. The lens zoom and focus are manually controlled with two separate rings that are easy to adjust. The manual zoom is especially nice here because it allows you to adjust screen size without having to physically move the projector.

Durability

While the Epson EX7240 is technically meant for the traveling professional, many found it rather large and heavy. If you plan to travel with this projector by car, it shouldn’t be much of an issue, but trying to lug the EX7240 through airport security might be a bit much. As mentioned previously, most users were perfectly satisfied with the feel of the plastic casing, but some felt the adjustable feet on this projector aren’t strong enough for regular use. Another point most reviewers made is that the included carrying case is rather thin and won’t do much to protect this projector during travel.

Value

The Epson EX7240 offers fabulous color accuracy, brightness, and resolution for a relatively low price. Though this projector doesn’t provide the same picture quality as more expensive projectors like the BenQ MH760 1080P Business Projector, it does a pretty great job for a fraction of the price. Buyers will want to consider any additional accessories they will need for the EX7240, such as a sturdier carrying case for traveling. As we’ve come to expect with projectors, the built-in speaker is not great, so using a different audio source will require some extra cables.

Epson EX7240 Wrap Up

Overall, the Epson EX7240 is a solid business projector that also works quite well for entertainment purposes. The image quality isn’t technically the best, but for $600, it’s absolutely worth the money. This projector won’t replace an expensive home theater setup, but teachers and businesspeople will be thrilled with how great and readable their presentations look.
