If a bargain-bin electric mountain bike is what you’re after, the Cyclamatic Power Plus CX1 Electric Mountain Bike fits beautifully as the best electric mountain bikes on a budget. You get control over terrain with a 21-speed Shimano gear shifter. And plenty of speed at 20mph, with a quick-release battery.

Durability & Build Quality

Instead of aluminum, the Cyclamatic Power Plus CX1 Electric Mountain Bike is made with a steel frame design. It gives it some admirable heft, weighing in at 63 lbs and with a 220 lb user weight limit. The handlebars are straight across, which may be strange for some. The seat, however, is comfortable, with the seat tube having some slight flex to it. Some assembly is required, unfortunately, though most of it is assembled already.

Performance (Speed & Acceleration)

Maxing out at 20mph, Cyclamatic Power Plus CX1 E Bikes are hitting the limit in speed. It’s fast, but still legal on roads. However, the MVP here is the 21-speed Shimano gears, similar to the NCM Prague Electric Mountain Bike. That alone gives it natural performance on any kind of terrain. Getting around fast requires the Addmotor Motan Electric Bike.

Range & Battery

The Cyclamatic Power Plus CX1 Electric Bike isn’t hitting home runs with its lithium battery. On average, you’re traveling 40 miles, which is middle-of-the-road performance, and the same number of miles the ANCHEER Folding Electric Mountain Bike has.

Safety Features

It’s greatest strength is the battery quick release front wheel and battery toggle, allowing you to take the battery with you and not worry about theft. Its linear pull brake system is fine, but mechanical and hydraulic disc brakes are better overall, especially in weather. It does have front suspension, but that’s as far as it goes. It’s serviceable for the price you pay.

Value

The Cyclamatic Power Plus CX1 Electric Mountain Bike could be so much more. It’s obvious some cuts were made, like having only front suspension rather than full, or linear pull brakes rather than disc brakes. However, that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth the money. Throwing down $650 for a serviceable mountain bike is a pretty good deal, considering its performance and latest mountain bike frame.

Cyclamatic Power Plus CX1 Electric Mountain Bike Wrap Up

The Cyclamatic Power Plus CX1 Electric Mountain Bike scores bonus points for having a low price, but that does come at the cost of decent parts rather than good or great. It still hits a max speed of 20, which is typical even among expensive eBikes, and a 21-speed Shimano gear shifter gives you ultimate control over terrain.
