For the best mattresses that hug the line between performance, budget, and bang for your buck, the Casper Sleep Essential Mattress Queen is performing that dance beautifully. Featuring a breathable, comfortable premium foam layer, supported by a firm base and memory foam layer for pressure relief and comfort. If you aren’t sure, you have 100 days to make a decision.

Why We Like It – Casper Sleep Essential Mattress Queen

The Casper Sleep Essential Mattress Queen balances budget and performance, created from three layers of foam comfort and support that you have 100 days to enjoy before settling in.

Pros
  • 100-night trial period
  • Breathable, comfortable premium foam mattress
  • Includes a zip-off mattress cover
Cons
  • Firmness not for everyone

Performance

The Casper Sleep Essential Mattress Queen does its name proud by incorporating three layers of comfort and support. The top two layers issue comfort and heat dispersion, which is great if you sleep hot. The memory foam layers, which are underneath the top layer, will add that pressure relief you so desire, cradling curves of your body, especially side sleepers. The bottom layer is stiffer to create a stable base. However, the top layers are firm, though not as soft as a Casper Wave. However, some like firm, others like soft or stiff.

Design

Another great design feature is Casper mattresses come in a range of sizes. This hasn’t changed since the original Casper, the Casper Essential. The Element Casper Mattress comes in: twin, twin XL, full, queen, king, and California king. No matter what size your bed is, it’s unlikely you’ll miss a new mattress Casper has to offer. In fact, the edge support is quite good—better than the Puffy Lux Mattress—so couples shouldn’t have issues bunking together, which also extends to motion transfer being relatively low.

Value

The Casper Element Mattress is a great mattress for those looking for something firm. It isn’t stiff or soft—a nice medium with a good base that has enough support to forego a box spring. What that means for you is you only have to spend $595 for the mattress and you’re good to go. That’s a killer deal considering the box spring can be ignored. And if you aren’t sure about it, you get 100 days to try it out, as does the Helix Mattress and the Leesa Sapira Mattress.

Casper Sleep Essential Mattress Queen Wrap Up

With the conclusion of our mattress review, the Casper Sleep Essential Mattress Queen rises to be a fantastic mattress, not just in terms of performance and design, but also on a budget. One layer keeps you cool, another provides support, and the base keeps it altogether without a box spring. If you’re on the fence, take advantage of the 100-day trial, since its firmness isn’t for everyone.
