Why We Like It – Belkin Road Rockstar
The Belkin Road Rockstar is made to charge multiple devices simultaneously, both in the front seat and in the back seat. It’s perfect for long road trips because its multiple USB ports mean no-one has to wait for a charger! Two USB ports charge smartphones (or tablets) up front, and the USB ports extend to the back seat passengers via a 6 ft. long cable leading to a USB hub. This extendable hub allows backseat passengers to provide optimal power to their favorite device.

Performance
The device has four USB ports for charging. Charge two devices in the front, and two in the back, all at 2.4 amps per port. It doesn’t come with cables, so you will need to buy those yourself. For Android, there’s nearly an unlimited amount of options. If you need to buy an Apple charger, we suggest the Belkin iPhone Charging Cable (f8m935bt06 blk). Using the 6-ft cable, backseat passengers extend the charger so they can use it without messing with the chargers up front (the plug has two integrated USB ports).
Design
This charger has the perfect design for a car of passengers. The driver & passenger up front have 2 USB ports right on the charger plug, while backseat passengers extend USB ports to themselves using the 6-ft. cord attached to the USB hub. The USB hub can be permanently attached to the driver/passenger backseat pocket with the 3M double-sided adhesive strip of tape, or you can use the clip on the back of the hub. You could also try the AmazonBasics Coiled Cable Lightning Car Charger (the single cable allows you to charge one Apple device at a time).

Value
This charger costs $35.99, which we think is reasonable given that it has four USB ports and a 6 ft. cord (the Maxboost Car Charger is a cheaper option if you only need front seat USB ports). It has free shipping/returns, an included 3-year warranty, and also has protection plans available as well. A few customers report charger failure, but thankfully this doesn’t seem to be a common complaint. We wish that it featured Quick Charge technology, but it’s still a solid device despite this shortcoming.
Belkin Road Rockstar Wrap Up
The Belkin Road Rockstar is a pretty good buy, especially for families. It allows you to charge two devices upfront, and you can use the included adhesive tape instead of the clip on the backseat pocket for the passenger car charger hub if you want it to be permanently attached. It doesn’t have any Quick Charge technology, but since it’s designed with long road trips in mind, this isn’t a flaw that we feel sells the charger short. If you’re constantly fighting with your children (or friends) over who gets the charger, then you’re sure to love this charger.
