It may not be the best car charger available, but the Anker ROAV SmartCharger is still a great addition to your vehicle. Besides just charging your devices, it also has many features such as support for hands free calling and the ability to play music from a USB drive. You can even use the charger app to monitor your battery status (and it has app support to locate your vehicle!).

Why We Like It – Anker ROAV SmartCharge F2

The Anker ROAV SmartCharge F2 is a car charger that also works as a great addition to your car’s sound system. The device is essentially an all-in-one car kit, offering dual USB ports, hands free calling via Bluetooth, FM transmitting technology providing a stable connection for calls or music, and the ROAV Charger App to help you monitor your battery status.

Pros
  • Dual USB Charging Ports
  • “Answer” Button Allows You To Make Hands Free Calls
  • FM Transmitter Broadcasts Audio From Your Bluetooth Connection On Your Choice Of FM Frequency
Cons
  • Only Has Two USB Ports

Performance

Although it has a bunch of great features, the main feature of this charger is (obviously) its charging capabilities! It has two USB ports to charge your devices, and the ports use POWERIQ technology for high speed charging (the HUSSELL Car Charger also has quick charging capabilities). These ports can also be used to plug in a USB drive filled with music, which will allow you to play music on your car’s stereo. The device has Bluetooth 4.2, so you can use it for hands free calls (or music) as well.

Design

Unlike the Maxboost Car Charger, the ROAV charger does not have a particularly durable design, so you will want to take care of this product. It is fairly bulky because of the “Answer” button & the “Forward/Back” buttons, but you should have no problem fitting it into your cigarette lighter outlet. The rest of the “design”, which is features like Bluetooth, an FM transmitter, and a car locator, is great to have. The only feature that may fall short is the car locator, as it relies on the last known GPS location of your phone before losing Bluetooth connectivity.

Value

It costs nearly $25 for this all-in-one car charger, but considering all the great features you get, we think it is worth the price. Of course, if you just need to charge a single Apple product, you can always save money and buy the AmazonBasics Coiled Cable Lightning Car Charger instead! But if you decide you want all the bells & whistles, then you will definitely be happy with this purchase. Like many products, it offers free delivery, and although you will have to pay to return it, the product is covered by a 12-month warranty.

Anker ROAV SmartCharge F2 Wrap Up

The Anker ROAV SmartCharge F2 is the perfect charger for you if simplicity just isn’t your thing. It has many different useful features, and this all-in-one solution will actually be cheaper than buying all the individual devices separately. Sadly, it only has two USB ports, but considering all the other features you get with this device, we don’t think that’s a particularly important shortcoming.
