In our search for the best and most comfortable office chairs around, we like to watch Kickstarter for any important upcoming products that may be worth consideration: congratulations, Backstrong! You are officially worth a closer look. And this might be one of the best ergonomic office chairs. With this chair, you’ll no longer be struggling with how to fix an office chair that won’t stay up. So Which office chair is right for you? If you’re looking for a chair that you can relax in, take a look at our Jaxx Pivot bean bag review too.

Is it a best office chair consumer reports would recommend? Read on to learn more.

So, what makes Backstrong so worthwhile?

Well, it’s two different sorts of chairs combined into one. The first is a traditional office chair with a deep, sloped back, swiveling feet on the base, and curved armrests. Pretty basic, not a lot of padding, and with a pretty design. With Backstrong, you’ll be able to leave your best posture corrector behind for good.

The second part of the chair, however, makes things interesting: it’s a bucket-like design for your butt that swivels up and down as you need it to. This naturally encourages you to lean back for better poster, correcting how you sit by encouraging you to revert back to your proper position after you are done leaning forward. And, at the same time, it allows a little movement when things get boring. And speaking of movement, you need to check out other options that have adjustability by reading about some of the most comfortable office chairs on the market today.

Movement is another thing the Backstrong has going for it is publicity. The marketing features quotes from Paula Abdul, Justin Bieber, plus pictures of Shaq. This appears to be thanks to Dennis Colonello, a renowned LA chiropractor and co-creator who has a long list of celebrity clients that he can ask for a few blurbs.

Who knows how much celebrity blurbs are worth when it comes to an office chair, but they aren’t nothing, and the Kickstarter claims that the chair can be used to help prevent sciatica, herniation, muscle strain, scoliosis and fatigue (not all these are spelled correctly on the fundraising page). As they say – big if true! If you’re still not sold on this chair, take a look at the poly bark inverness ergonomic chair review for another option.

There is a final advantage to the Backstrong: most Kickstarter office chairs are elaborate affairs that can cost hundreds of even thousands of dollars. You can get the Backstrong for an early bird price of just $250, which makes it look good compared to even mainstream quality office chairs.

There are, however, a few things noticed about this chair.

First, while it’s available in a number of different colors, there appears to be only one size and no way to actually adjust the chair. This seems weird, since adjustment and positioning is usually key when buying a “healthy” office chair.

Second, we’re not sure about durability. Have a chair that’s essentially two different pieces, with the bottom piece designed to swivel, makes us nervous. How durable is it? What happens when one of the parts wears out?

But such is the risk of a Kickstarter investment. If you want to take part, the chair apparently already has a manufacturer lined up and will be shipping in mid-2018.
