With such a small size, it’s no surprise that the Anker Nebula Capsule II is one of the best portable projectors on the market, and even makes our list of the best projector for gaming. Don’t be fooled by its diminutive size, the Capsule II packs a lot of punch and delivers quality performance wherever you go- as long as there is no ambient light there.

Why We Like It – Anker Nebula Capsule II

The Anker Nebula Capsule II is the ultimate in portable projectors; with dimensions similar to a can of soda, a wide range of connectivity options, and 2.5 hours of video playtime, this mini projector is sure to deliver quality performance absolutely anywhere.

Performance/Resolution

The Anker Nebula Capsule II may be small, but it delivers plenty of performance. A native 720p resolution from its DLP projector offers fair picture quality over similarly sized mini projectors. The built-in 8W speaker utilizes Scan-Speak transducers for immersive sound, though the portable projector can also connect to a separate Bluetooth speaker instead by using Bluetooth Speaker mode. The Capsule II can produce video for about 2.5 hours on a single charge, though it can also be plugged in for continuous home use. Need a projector with a 4K UHD picture resolution? try the Optoma CinemaX P1.

Brightness/Lumens

The main flaw of the Anker Nebula Capsule II is its low maximum brightness. Only able to display in 200 ANSI lumens, this mini projector requires a sufficiently dark environment to function properly, as an excess of ambient light will cause the colors displayed by the projector to wash out. However, if there is no ambient light to disrupt your viewing, the Nebula Capsule II displays excellent image quality with a decent contrast ratio, making it perfect for nighttime during camping trips.

Speaking of camping trips, you’ll also want to check out the Vamvo L4200 portable video projector, as it can also be used just about anywhere.

Adjustability/Viewing Angle

Like its sister model, the Anker Nebula Capsule, the Anker Nebula Capsule II is designed to be easily set up anywhere you might be, and provides the means to do so. An autofocus feature eliminates the need to adjust the picture manually, and its settings can be adjusted through the remote control or through voice-activation using Google Assistant. The projector can also function similar to a Smart TV via Chromecast using Android TV 9.0 and apps downloaded from the Google Play store, such as YouTube and Amazon Prime Video. Our review of the TOPVISION projector details that it can also do the same.

Durability

The Anker Nebula Capsule II is built to accompany you wherever you may travel and can handle the same terrain you can. Its tiny frame even supports several connection options, such as HDMI, USB c, Bluetooth, wi-fi, and more. The projector’s bulb has an incredible average lifespan of 30,000 hours, guaranteeing a long usage period before needing replacement. The product also comes with an optional 2-year or 3-year protection plan for an additional cost.

Value

With all the quality of the Anker Nebula Capsule II packed into a frame that can fit inside a large cup holder, this portable projector is a clear value for its price tag. Its wide range of user features included in the extraordinarily portable frame makes the Capsule II a great value, even greater than the Anker Nebula Mars with an enhanced native resolution and a comparable maximum brightness, especially if you want to use your projector during the day. If you’re looking for a quality projector you can take with you anywhere, the Anker Nebula Capsule II is an excellent choice.

Anker Nebula Capsule II Wrap Up

The Anker Nebula Capsule II fits well into the category of good things that come in small packages. The ultra-portable, easy-to-use projector delivers plenty of performance in sufficiently dark environments, and guarantees satisfaction whether you’re streaming movies while camping, or just watching cartoons at home. Perfect for kids and adults alike, the Capsule II won’t disappoint on the road or in your living room.
