Unlike the Antennas Direct Clearstream Eclipse Amplified Indoor TV Antenna, the Vansky antenna may not be the best choice for an indoor HDTV antenna mainly because it is a large and flat antenna. If you want to compare the HDTV with another option, you should also take a look at our Mohu Leaf Indoor HDTV antenna review. But using it as an outdoor antenna shouldn’t be too much of a hassle. If you want an HD viewing experience, take a look at the LCD TV vs Plasma TV. And a great signal amplifier with great picture quality and long range should be placed where it’s most effective, right? Why We Like It – HDTV Antenna

The Vansky Amplified Antenna, although maybe not the best indoor antenna, is the best outdoor antenna. Vansky believes people should have access to the best TV without needing to pay a bundle for it and their TV antennas, with their signal quality and affordable price, certainly live up to this goal. Pros
  • 150 Mile Range
  • 30-foot coaxial cable
  • Remote for motorized controlling
Cons
  • Somewhat clunky design and set-up
  • Not really suitable as an indoor antenna
  • Possibly faulty coaxial cable

Performance

The Vansky antenna offers good reception with the ability to pick up HDTV local channels and many channels not considered local thanks to its 150 mile range. When it comes to HDTV antennas it doesn’t get much better than this kind of signal strength. A comparable TV Antenna would be the Winegard FL5500A FlatWave Amped Digital HD Indoor Amplified TV Antenna, which also boasts impressive picture quality (it has HD in the name after all) though a smaller range, making it good for indoor use. Design

For better reception it’s a good idea to install the Vansky TV antenna about 10-20 feet off the ground. If you’re using it as an indoor TV antenna this could pose a problem. It comes with a 30 foot coaxial cable which further solidifies why you shouldn’t use it as an indoor antenna (do you really want that cable all-about your house?). It is designed to receive digital tv signals and the picture quality is crisp and clear. Value

Some people have found their coaxial cable to be faulty so you may need to replace it. This is an unfortunate turn of events, considering the coaxial cable is large and cumbersome to deal with in the first place, but an issue you may need to account for. You must also consider that the Vansky TV Antenna is a unidirectional TV Antenna meaning you’ll have to adjust it from time to time to get the best signal. Thankfully it comes with a remote control for this very reason so you don’t have to go climbing somewhere to get to it.

HDTV Antenna Wrap Up

The Vansky TV antenna can work as an indoor tv antenna, like the Mohu Leaf or Mohu Releaf or it can work as an outdoor antenna, like the RCA Outdoor Yagi Satellite HD Antenna. Despite this, the best signal quality comes from setting it up outside (not to mention how awkward it would be to set it up inside). But once it is set-up, its range and picture quality will shine through and you’ll be enjoying your favourite TV shows in no time.
