Do you want to experience vinyl records? Not sure where to start? One of the best record players turntables to do so is with the WOCKODER Record Player. Not only does it play at various speeds, with good sound quality, it’s one of the most affordable options for vinyl record players.

Why We Like It – Wockoder Record Player Review

With decent speakers and good sound quality, this belt-drive 3-speed turntable offers one of the cheapest ways to experience vinyls for yourself and others, given its lightweight design.

Pros
  • Belt driven three speed turntable
  • Nice vintage design
  • Great option to introduce vinyl records
Cons
  • Speakers could’ve been better

Performance

Since the WOCKODER Recrod Player is belt-driven, it provides better sound quality than most direct-drive turntables, at least traditionally. It has three speeds: 33 1/4, 45, 78 RPM. which is nice for various forms of vinyl. Sound quality does take a slight hit when you use the internal speakers. They are average, at best. Given its pseudo-compact design, this is to be expected. For better sound, go with a pair of external speakers via RCA output. Better yet, an Audio-Technica AT-LP120XUSB-BK is ideal for audiophiles, if you’ve got the money for one. Also, check out the Fluance rt81 review for a player with built-in preamp and an adjustable counterweight.

Design

The WOCKODER KD-2008BL Record Player was definitely built with portability in mind. For starters, it has a dimensions of 12.30 x 10.00 x 4.10 inches, and weighs 5.28 lbs. Compare that with other portable record players like the Byron Statics Turntable Vintage Record Player, and the WOCKODER comes out much smaller and lighter than its competitor. It comes with built-in stereo speakers, but also RCA output if you’ve settled somewhere and have a pair of external speakers for better sound. To easily convert your vinyl records to digital files, use a record player that is compatible with Mac and PC. Learn more about this record player in our Audio technica at lp120 usb review.

Value

The WOCKODER Record Player isn’t the best sounding turntable, nor the best overall. What it does accomplish, however, is being one of the best options to introduce vinyls to your collections, without spending insane amounts of money. It sounds good, lightweight, and easily fits as a suitcase turntable when you’re on the go. It doesn’t hurt that the turntable looks vintage, too, making it a great piece to have displayed. All that for just $59? It gets our seal of value. When the time comes, you may want to upgrade to a Crosley CR704D-PA or Victrola VTA-600B-ESP.

Wockoder Record Player Review Wrap Up

We were able to forgive WOCKODER Record Player’s average speakers, thanks to the RCA output. It still played vinyls wonderfully, with its belt-driven turntable. For someone wanting to experience vinyl, this is a great option, given its very cheap and affordable pricing. Its vintage shell even looks good on any entertainment center.
