What impressed us most about the Audio-Technica AT-LP60 the most was its sound quality. For $100, it has some really great audio, though that may change based on the speakers you use. As good as it is, if you’re an audiophile you won’t think much of it. Part of its magic is from the high-quality phono cartridge, a sign of Audio-Technica’s performance. The diamond-tipped stylus and the belt-drive design really helped isolate motor vibrations, which further helped produce high-fidelity audio.
Design
With sound quality aside, let’s talk design. The LP60 USB Automatic Turntable is incredibly easy to use, yet another aspect that serves as a way to introduce new users to turntables. A few buttons along the front-facing side control playback and power, and switching seeds is done with a small lever at the top. The phono cartridge cannot be changed, however. The Fluance rt81 review details a player that has a diamond elliptical tipped stylus that can precisely track your record grooves for HD audio.
In the back is a phono preamplifier, and with the aid of the RCA output, you can connect it to a nearby audio system or powered speakers. Unlike the Victrola VTA-600B-ESP, speakers aren’t built into the record player. It’s a simple yet modern design, and entirely different from the way the Crosley CR704D-PA looks.

The Audio Technica LP60 Turntable falls within an entry level category. So, if you’re an audiophile and want something long term, consider jumping up to an Audio-Technica AT-LP120XUSB-BK. With that said, it’s still a fantastic record player, albeit one for newcomers to vinyl instead of veterans. This is especially true when you view its price. For $100, you’ll be given the opportunity to experience vinyl like it was meant to be. With the money you save, you can even set up a great pair of speakers.
