It can be used for ATV and UTV applications, and along with a 3,000 lb. capacity, this warn winch has a three stage planetary gear train. The permanent magnet motor has 1.1 hp, which has much less horsepower than the smittybilt 97495 xrc winch capacity, which has 6.6 hp. Also like the smittybilt winch, this winch is fully sealed in order to have circuit breaker protection.
Design
This winch comes with a steel wire rope, a mounting plate, and 4 way roller fairlead. Unlike the Superwinch 1135220 Fairlead Handlebar Handheld winch, the warn winch can only use the steel wire rope and can’t use synthetic rope. What makes it stand out is how it contains a mechanical spring brake, which provides more control while the user operates the winch. There’s also a corded remote control that can allow the user to operate the winch from a distance.
Value
What could mainly contribute to the price would be the quality of the parts, such as the steel wire rope and the permanent magnet motor. Also, the fairlead plate, which usually isn’t included with winch-related purchases, is definitely a welcomed addition to a winch set. Winches with similar specifications would have a price range of about $150- $300, with some of the cheaper options, like the Superwinch 1130220 LT3000ATV Fairlead Handlebar Winch, contain motors with more horsepower and more ranges of applications than this particular warn winch.

WARN 89030 Vantage 3000 Winch Wrap Up
While it’s performance is otherwise great, some customer reviews from the United States have mentioned that there can be complications with installing the mounting plate, mainly due to there being a learning curve. Compared to the warn winches that were produced afterwards, this warn winch model isn’t all that spectacular, despite being almost $300 on sites other than Amazon.
