Why We Like It – VIZIO D24f-G1 D-Series 24” Class (23.5″ Diag.) Smart TV

The VIZIO D24f-G1 D-Series 24” Class (23.5″ Diag.) Smart TV packs a lot of features into a small size. We love the built-in Google Chromecast, compatibility with voice controls, and the automatic updates. It also has good flexibility for wall mounting, or setting it up with or without the stand.

Pros
  • 100 free channels
  • Incredibly affordable
  • Google Chromecast built-in
Cons
  • Tinny sound quality
  • Apps are sometimes slow to load

Performance (Display/Resolution/Refresh)

The VIZIO D24F G1 has gorgeous full-array LED backlighting for awesome picture quality. For a small TV, it has a surprising 1080p resolution with full high definition. It has a 60hz refresh rate for smooth sports and video games. Amazon reviewers were surprised by the sharp picture quality for such a budget-friendly TV. But if you’re looking for a bigger TV with more bells and whistles, check out the Samsung 43 Inch Smart TV.

Sound

The VIZIO D24f-G1 has built-in speakers with DTS StudioSound. While having built-in speakers is a nice touch, many Amazon reviewers complained of tinny sound quality and opted to purchase an external sound system.

Smart Features

With a built-in Google Chromecast and a simplified remote control, the VIZIO D-Series is a great addition to any smart home. You can download VIZIO’s SmartCast app for your smartphone and easily cast and control your favorite TV shows and movies from Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and many more. The VIZIO TV is also compatible with voice control technology like Siri, Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant; you just need to ask your TV to change the channel.

Ports & Expandability

This TV has 2 HDMI ports and a USB for fairly good connectivity for your gaming consoles and cable box. It also has an ethernet port for easy internet access, and a TV channel tuner built-in.

Value

If you’re a college student on a budget, or looking for a second TV for your bedroom or kitchen, the VIZIO 24-Inch TV is a fantastic deal. It’s a good price for a 1080p resolution, as well as having smart TV functionality. The built-in speakers and Google Chromecast definitely add to the value. And to top it all off, it comes with 100 live TV channels (news, sports, music, and comedy), so you can get rid of your cable connection. Compare the VIZIO’s features to another similarly priced small TV, the LG 24LJ4540 TV.

VIZIO D24f-G1 D-Series 24” Class (23.5″ Diag.) Smart TV Wrap Up

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly smart TV with full HD, you’ll definitely want to give the VIZIO another look. It has a lot of smart features which are uncommon in similar small flatscreens on the market. The biggest downside is the tinny sound quality, but it definitely has a lot of other smart features that make up for it. Of course, if you’re looking for a more luxury experience, you should check out the Samsung Frame TV 43.
