Sunbrite makes some of the best outdoor TVs on the market, including the SunBriteTV Weatherproof Outdoor 55-Inch Veranda (2nd Gen) 4K UHD HDR LED Television. The Veranda Series (model number SB-V-55-4KHDR-BL) is best for full shade, perfect for watching movies and sports in your enclosed porch. You can easily add a streaming device to its waterproof media bay. If you need more accessories for your TV, check out this list of recommended electronics.

Why We Like It – SunBriteTV Weatherproof Outdoor 55-Inch Veranda (2nd Gen) 4K UHD HDR LED Television

The SunBriteTV Weatherproof Outdoor 55-Inch Veranda (2nd Gen) 4K UHD HDR LED Television is fully weatherproof. It can handle extreme temperatures, operating from -23F all the way to 104F. We love the rust-proof finish and the waterproof media bay and weatherproof remote control. It’s perfect for watching sports and HDR television content with your friends in shady outdoor areas.

Pros
    • 3 HDMI ports
  • Weatherproofed media bay
Cons
  • Built-in speakers aren’t loud
  • Viewing angle isn’t great

Performance (Display/Resolution/Refresh)

The Sunbrite Veranda Series TV has 4K UHD resolution and has HDR support (full high dynamic range formats) for excellent picture quality. It’s way brighter than indoor TVs, with increased sharpness and reduced glare. It has a 60hz refresh rate for smooth sports without motion blur. One drawback is that the viewing angle isn’t great; there is a slight glare when viewing from an angle. Compare SunBrite’s picture quality to the Furrion TV, another top outdoor television brand. Sound

The SunBrite 55-inch TV has built-in speakers, but many Amazon reviews say the sound levels aren’t high enough. SunBrite does offer external sound bars you can purchase separately that are compatible with the Veranda Series.

Smart Features

The SunBrite is not a smart TV, but it’s easy to just plug in a Chromecast, Roku, or Fire Stick into the weatherproof media bay to add streaming capabilities. If you’re looking for traditional smart features, check out the Sony XBR65X900F.

Ports & Expandability

This SunBrite has 3 HDMI ports and 1 USB port for flexible connectivity. The media bay is waterproofed, protecting the TV’s ports from sand and water. Check out our Toshiba TF 32A710U21 32-Inch Smart HD TV review if you’re looking for a television equipped with Amazon Fire TV.

Value

SunBrite TVs are typically fairly expensive because they’re fully weatherproof and can handle extreme heat and cold. The SunBrite 55-inch TV is fairly pricey at $2,000, and the lack of smart features is a downside to its high price. But, SunBrite builds its outdoor TVs to last; its internal components are fully protected from rain, snow, insects, humidity, salt air, and dirt, so the value comes in its long lifespan. It’s a brighter outdoor TV compared to others on the market. If you’re looking for a solid TV that you won’t have to replace for several years, then SunBrite is definitely for you.

SunBriteTV Weatherproof Outdoor 55-Inch Veranda (2nd Gen) 4K UHD HDR LED Television Wrap Up

For a full shade outdoor TV you can permanently install in your lanai, you should seriously think about the SunBriteTV Veranda Series. It’s fantastic for partial sun areas outside, with a bright UHD HDR screen, and can handle both extremely hot and extremely cold temperatures. It’s definitely a TV built to last. The picture quality is fantastic compared to other outdoor TVs on the market. Compare its features to other SunBrite Outdoor TVs.
