For most people, choosing the perfect suitcase for heavy or light luggage travel boils down to just a few key things; how much of your stuff you can fit in one, how durable it is, and for some people, how good it looks overall. The Travelpro Maxlite 5 set checks all these boxes, and is one of the best suitcase brands in the United States. TravelPro actually touts itself as the preferred suitcase choice of flight attendants and frequent travellers, and for them to make such a bold claim, they really must have a lot of confidence in their products. This is why we’re going to take a deep look into their Travelpro Maxlite 5 spinner suitcase, and see if it’s really got what it takes to be the best luggage suitcase for you.

At just slightly over 7 pounds, the Travelpro Maxlite 5 set is the kind of suitcase set that you buy and get surprised over how light weight it is, then start wondering where it’s been all this time. Performance

There are a number of things that make Travel pro suitcases a great choice. For starters, each suitcase has expandable spinner wheels that rotate 360 degrees for multidirectional movement (just like the Coolife Luggage 3 Piece Set), and a lightweight yet sturdy PowerScope Lite handle that locks at either 38 or 42.5 inches to accommodate users of varying height. In addition to that, they also come with top side and bottom carry handles to give you more options of how you want to move it around whether you’re using the checked bag or the carry-on, and a number of pocket side options for you to slide in your phone, charger or passport wallet.

Design

The Travelpro Maxlite 5 set comes in some nice, solid colors like Dusty Rose, Slate Green and Azure Blue to fit different tastes, but if choosing your preferred hue is more of a headache than a joy, then the standard color black should do just fine. The design of the Maxlite 5 suitcases is more functional than anything else, with a full length interior lid pocket and a side accessory pocket for quick concealing, and bottom carry handles two for easier carrying. Inside, we were pleased to find hold-down straps that are great for pushing down your stuff so that you can fit in more. Also, if its good looks you’re going for, you’d be better off with the Samsonite Winfield 2 Hardside Expandable Suitcase.

Value

The Travelpro Maxlite 5 Suitcase set consists of either a 19-inch or 21-inch carry on, a 25-inch checked-medium, and a 29-inch checked-large size suitcase. In case you have your suitcase filled up but still haven’t packed in a couple of things yet, not to worry. Each Travelpro luggage suitcase expands by up to 2 inches to maximize its packing power so that you never have to leave anything behind. Also, compared to the Maxlite 4, this new Maxlite weighs about 0.5 pounds lighter, though side by side the difference might be a little difficult to detect.
