Samsonite is an industry leader when it comes to suitcases, and by extension, all things luggage. The brand has built a solid reputation for itself as one that always puts forward the best looking, high quality bags at different price ranges, and the Samsonite Winfield 2 is one such example. Now retailing at under $300, the Winfield 2 set includes a 20-inch carry on, a 24-inch medium sized suitcase and a 28-inch large size one. All three come with a side mounted TSA lock for good security, and four spinner wheels that allow for multidirectional movement. The polycarbonate bag also comes with an extensive 10 year limited warranty, but is this enough for it to feature on our list of the best luggage pieces? Let’s review Samsonite Winfield and find out.

Performance

The Samsonite luggage bags come with three handles in total, and this is after including its one-click telescopic handle. This is quite different from the PowerScope handle of the Travelpro Maxlite 5-SoftSide Expandable luggage set that locks in only two positions. The other two soft handles of this Samsonite suitcase are found at both sides of the bag and they make it easy for it to be loaded onto a car or a luggage cart. The suitcase also features a zipped expander which opens up to increase its packing capacity, and it has a clamshell design that opens up in two separate halves.

Design

Most of the colors that this Samsonite 3 piece set come in are what you’d consider deep colors. There’s choices like deep blue, brushed anthracite, and charcoal, with simple bright colors like white and yellow nowhere to be seen. Also, each suitcase is quite lightweight on its own, and features a TSA approved lock that makes it easier for TSA to inspect your luggage at the airport. Inside, the suitcase features a nylon lining, a zippered compartment and a mesh divider to help you keep things organized.

Value

Being a hardshell, it can be very difficult trying to fit any of the 3 suitcases in a place where the space is a bit tight. This is because unlike a soft shell, the polycarbonate material isn’t as adaptable, so you’d be better off placing it somewhere where there’s enough space for it to sit. The manufacturer also appears a lot more trustworthy to its customers thanks to the ten year warranty Samsonite provides, and puts competitors like the Coolife Luggage 3 piece set at only two years to shame.

Samsonite Winfield 2 Wrap Up

As we come to the end of this review Samsonite, we hope you’ve gotten a good idea of what to expect from the Winfield 2 set. You also won’t get a 10 year warranty with other suitcase manufacturers, so it’s better to stick with a company that has more than enough faith in their product.
