Performance

This is a true story about Joe’s zoo and the activists that try to take him down. When this series concludes, balance your watching list with the animated comedy, Big Mouth, from our list. This series was directed by Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin. Joe is an ecstatic person with everyone around him. He has had a fascination for exotic animals for a long time, but this fascination comes at the price for his staff, and the animals themselves. Expect an intense showdown between Joe and Carol as they fight for control of Joe’s tigers.

Design

There are two narratives throughout the series, on one side of the story is Joe and his experience in his tiger business. On the other side is Carole Baskin and her organization trying to stop Joe from continually breeding tigers. This show is structured like a reality show so as the series goes on there will be various times where the cast is interviewed about events as they are happening. The end result is a tense dramatic series regarding the issue of exotic animal collectors.

Value

This is an insightful series about animal collectors and animal rights. It is interesting to see that some of the events in the series happened long ago, yet at that time there was little speculation on them. The drama between the two tiger enthusiasts will have you at the edge of your seat. There will be blood, drugs, sex, music, death, and tigers of course. After this series is over feel free to watch Avatar: The Last Airbender, an animated series suitable for the family.

Tiger King Review Wrap Up

Joe Exotic gave absolutely everything to remain the Tiger King. He even went as far as hiring a campaign manager to help him run a political campaign to prove his point. There is only one season to catch up on the craziness that left many viewers choosing sides between Joe Exotic or Carole Baskin.
