Performance
For what you’re spending, the Sun Joe MJ401E-PRO performs pretty well, provided it’s used in the right environment; it’s right at home with a small lawn. With its compact design, it works really well in tight spaces. Its cutting deck is 14-inches, making use of a steel blade and its motor cuts easily through various lengths of grass both wet and dry. However, the cutting deck is rather small compared to the Greenworks 25022, which is equipped with a 20-inch cutting deck.

Design
The Sun Joe MJ401E-PRO was made really easy to use. All you do is plug it in and press the push button. Making height adjustments, use the manual height control. Simply move the bar connecting the wheels between three cutting heights. Since it’s a 2-in-1, you can switch between side discharges (comes out the back) or use the grass catcher to collect grass clippings. However, the grass bag does fill up rather quickly, unlike the American Lawn Mower 50514.
Sadly, it’s a corded lawn mower. You’ll be tethered to a cable the entire time. For many, this will be a frustrating experience. If you want a cordless electric lawn mower, pick up the Greenworks 25322.
Value
The Sun Joe MJ401E-PRO’s value is a coin toss. The cutting deck is small compared to other electric mowers around the same price, but that isn’t a problem if you have a very small yard. Anything more than half an acre is too much. On the other hand, it’s a corded lawn mower. It doesn’t come with an extension cord in its package, unfortunately.
