What makes the Shark Rocket Corded Ultra-Light Vacuum possibly the best pet vacuum is, above all else, its consistency. It’s corded electric, so power is constant, unfailing, unyielding. Versatility is part of who it is, with a pet multi-tool and self-cleaning brush roll that makes it a shoo-in as the best vacuum for pet hair. It’s starting to look like a combination of the best handheld vacuum and the best lightweight vacuum! Why We Like It – Shark Rocket Corded Ultra Light

Stick or handheld? The Shark Rocket Corded Ultra-Light Vacuum asks: why not both? Forget choosing between the two modes and take strong, consistent suction power across bare floors and carpets alike. It’s almost like asking yourself should you go with cordless vs a corded vacuum?

Pros
  • Consistent suction power
  • Self-cleaning brushroll
  • Converts to a hand vacuum
Cons
  • Cord length is a tad short
  • Too few attachments

Power, Speed & Efficiency

The Shark Rocket Ultra-Light Corded Bagless Vacuum delivers 500 watts of power to both carpets and hard floors, the same as Shark Rocket HV301, but 460 watts fewer than the Eureka PowerSpeed lightweight upright. Its hard bristles dig deeply into carpets for excellent floor cleaning, but with a quick switch, you’ll be cleaning hardwood floors without so much as a scratch. And pet hair? Tackle that with the pet upholstery tool. For above-ground cleaning, the floor nozzle crevice tool combo can suck up debris and dust away edges and cobwebs. Putting it away for the day is done so via wall mount. It’d be an even better vacuum with a retractable cord.

Bin Capacity, Maintenance & Durability

Pet hair on the floor? The vacuum’s brush roll is self-cleaning, so you don’t have to worry about cutting away human or pet hair. The canister will have to be cleaned and the filter rinsed every now and then. Durability is surprisingly good. It’s a combination of ABS and PP plastics, with a splash of metal and rubber. Like cordless stick vacuums, Shark Rocket Corded Ultra-Light Vacuums have smaller dustbins, this one being 20 ounces. It’s a far cry from an Oreck Commercial Upright XL2100, but that uses bags, not a canister.

Value

Is the Shark Rocket DeluxePro Upright Vacuum worth its salt? It just might be one of the best vacuums of its price bracket. It doesn’t fall into the same pit as cordless vacuum cleaners because its power is derived from a cord, not batteries—but does have too few attachments. Still, you’ll always get consistent performance, provided you keep the filter and dustbin clean. For smart homes, there’s more value from an iRobot Roomba 675.

Shark Rocket Corded Ultra Light Wrap Up

There’s so little holding the Shark Rocket Corded Ultra Light Vacuum from holding it back. Sure, it could use a few more attachments, but you can buy those separately. And its power cord is still relatively long, just a tad short. You’ll still get consistent suction power because of it, in addition to a self-cleaning brush roll and handheld mode.
