You don’t need to replace your old air conditioning unit to make it smarter. The Sensibo Sky is a smart air conditioner controller with a built-in thermostat that connects your old air conditioner to your smartphone. Setup and very easy with support for geofencing, control from anywhere, 7day scheduling, and even voice control through Google Home Google Assitant, and Amazon Alexa. How Easy Is Sensibo Sky To Set Up?
It’s very easy to use with nice control features. Just download the Sensibo app and create a new account. Then plug the controller into an outlet and mount it on the wall using the adhesive backing. Then you will pair the device through the app and point your air conditioner remote at the Sensibo Sky’s IR sensor. Doesn’t matter if it’s a window ac model, such as the TOSOT 8000 BTU window conditioner temperature sensing unit or the Midea U Inverter window air conditioner.
Once it detects your location, you’ll need to enter your Wi-Fi password and you are good to go. You have AC control for your air conditioning. If you’re the old school type and just need a ‘dumb’ unit to cool down a small room, consider getting the Senville Mini Split HVAC system or the MRCOOL mini-split unit.
The Sensibo Sky App
The Sensibos app is compatible with Android or iOS and is very intuitive and easy to use. At a glance, you can see data like temperature and humidity, easily create run-time schedules, check temperature and humidity, and more. You can even check out the filter cleaning schedule. Of course, it is only going to display stats for rooms that have Sensibo Sky installed.
You can control your A/Cs, like the SereneLife portable air conditioner, around the house with several units. I’m more familiar with Android apps and that’s what I used here. It was great.
Performance
After setting up the Sensibo smart air conditioner and setting some schedules I put it through its paces and the Sensibo Sky really does turn your old AC into a smart air conditioner that can be controlled via your smartphone. You get notifications for everything and all of the functions are easily set up and controlled with your phone. The Alexa Google function also works great and it does it all with no lag as far as I can tell.
Bottom Line
The Sensibo Sky Smart air conditioner controller is a great way to upgrade your old AC unit for cheaper than the cost of a new AC unit, however, some will want to just go ahead and upgrade their AC model since you are spending the money anyway and the low price isn’t low enough.
