Update: It’s an April Fool’s joke. So sorry.
We’re taking this piece of kit with a grain of salt and we suggest that you do the same considering it was announced on April Fool’s day.
The RE-35 Digital Cartridge fits inside any 35mm point and shoot camera, the film type, but instead of using celluloid to record image there is a “pull out” digital sensor that captures and transfers stills to the cartridges on-board memory. While we don’t have any evidence to prove the product to be vaporware, the idea that a “pull out” sensor would actually work and not easily get broken is more than a stretch of the imagination. Assuming it does work, a USB interface transfers the images to a connected computer.
Our final words: keep dreaming.
