Design
The Pococina Upgraded 4.2 Bluetooth Beanie Hat is a Polyester Acrylic knit blend. There are several solid colors from which to choose. All styles offered are “slouchy” designs giving them larger roomier sizing. Some choices include pom-poms on top. Not as much variety as is available with the SoundBot SB210 Bluetooth Beanie, or the Rotibox Rechargeable Bluetooth Fashional Speakerphone which offers styles in patterns (not just solid colors). Design of the electronics are the same as most Bluetooth beanies (one envisions a single factory in China producing all of them, but who knows?). A 3-button control panel with a built in mic is on one side (really a leather patch allowing for buttons underneath to be clicked). All of the electronics are inside the beanie in small pockets so they can be removed to allow for washing the beanie shell. Sound quality is best when stereo speakers are aligned with your ears just right, but it’s not going to be as high fidelity as stereo headphones. An integrated battery is rechargeable using included USB cable. Their support of Bluetooth V4.2 with EDR (enhance data rate) technology makes pairing with devices easy. BT beanies are outerwear subject to winter weather and abuse (depending upon physical activities), so the life of even the best BT beanies may be short. The Pococina Upgraded 4.2 Bluetooth Beanie Hat is mid-priced compared to other Bluetooth beanies, roughly the same price point as the Redness Wireless BT Beanie (that includes a neck warmer). Pococina says they offer a 12-month warranty for their beanie hat. While the Pococina offering isn’t among the best Bluetooth beanies, it’s representative of most in this product category.
