A Bluetooth beanie, a.k.a., smart beanie, lets you enjoy music or keep up with important calls without exposing your ears to the cold of winter. Bluetooth beanies are also a better option than a hat on top of bulky headphones if you’re engaging in outdoor sports or other physical activities. The LEVIN Bluetooth Beanie is a warm snug fitting beanie supporting the latest wireless Bluetooth V5.0 technology. Although not included in the Best Bluetooth Beanie buyer’s guide, it’s worthy of consideration due to its style, reasonable price point, and upgraded Bluetooth support. Check out what we think the best clothing apparel is.

Why We Like It – LEVIN Bluetooth Beanie

The LEVIN Bluetooth Beanie is a warm beanie which is also a wireless Bluetooth stereo headphone with a microphone that lets you enjoy winter activities or outdoor sports while listening to music, podcasts, audiobooks, or talking hands free on phone calls.

Pros
  • Bluetooth V5.0 support
  • Sports-ready fit
  • Reasonable price
Cons
  • Weak volume
  • Limited color / pattern choices
  • Too snug for some heads

Performance

The LEVIN Bluetooth Beanie is a one-size-fits-most unisex design that has a sports-ready snug fit that’s perfect for skiing, snowboarding, or snowmobiling. Comes in different patterns and colors, although not as much variety as available with the SoundBot SB210 Bluetooth Beanie or the Rotibox Bluetooth Beanie. Easy to remove / replace active electronics in the LEVIN beanie whenever it needs washing. Pairing with devices is simple, despite some confusion about the name appearing in the list of available BT devices on your smartphone. The 3-button control panel on the left side is easy enough to operate by feel, and has a built-in microphone. Does cause the beanie to stick out slightly more on the left side. Callers on the other end of a telephone conversation were unaware that a “beanie phone” was being used. Design

The LEVIN Bluetooth Beanie is knitted of soft stretchy yarn that’s backed with Polar fleece lining with pockets for the integrated Bluetooth headphones and a microphone (for a smarter look, pair this beanie with the Hanes Men’s Pullover Ecosmart Fleece Hooded Sweatshirt). A knit backed with fleece makes it one warm beanie, and also makes it fit snug. Too snug for some, particularly if you have long locks, in which case a Highever Ponytail Bluetooth Beanie may be a better way to go. Audio quality is not on par with better audiophile devices like Beats headphones, but okay for a beanie. Proper positioning of the speaker over the ears is the main determinant of fidelity which is true for even the best Bluetooth beanies. The LEVIN beanie supports the Bluetooth V5.0 specification that is downward compatible with all prior Bluetooth specs, and so the LEVIN works with any BT device. BT V5.0 does have greater range and enhances Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) features that are intended to prolong battery life. LEVIN claims 6-8 hours of battery life for its Bluetooth hat, but as always your mileage may vary. If the device with which you’re paired is also BT V5.0 then you get maximum battery life, purported better audio quality (kind of hard to tell listening on a Bluetooth beanie hat), plus some other interesting capabilities like playing music on two connected BT devices simultaneously. Recharge the integrated battery using a supplied micro-USB cable.

Value

The LEVIN Bluetooth Beanie is reasonably priced, making it a good gift giving option for your favorite younger friends and relatives. Some reviews suggest the snug fit as being more suitable for kids than for adults. Young music listeners do often prefer louder volumes which the LEVIN doesn’t deliver at the high decibel levels equivalent to earbuds (maybe not such a bad thing). Seemingly fine for music or podcasts or whatever while on the go in winter. Many are surprised by how easy the LEVIN makes it to receive calls. Quality issues are mentioned by some, although LEVIN customer support is generally given high marks.

LEVIN Bluetooth Beanie Wrap Up

The LEVIN Bluetooth Beanie keeps your ears warm with less fatigue (pain) than sometimes happens when wearing other stereo headset options in snow cold temps. Lets you do your favorite cold weather things while listening to your favorite wireless stereo audio content. If you’re looking for more casual styling than check out the Redness Wireless Bluetooth Beanie which comes with a neck warmer.
