Play-Doh 3D Printer "Sells Out" on Thinkgeek

I knew that the best 3D printer would involve Play-Doh.

Who wouldn’t want a Play-doh 3D printer?  I know I would.  How about you?  Well, too bad.  Because it ain’t real.  It’s one of many Thinkgeek April Fool’s pranks.  But take a look at the comments, and you’ll see some people we’re actually fooled.  I’ve been following Thinkgeek for almost a decade now, so I always expect them to unveil some new and innovative product on April 1st.

But here is the thing: they’ve made some of these products reality, such as the TaunTaun Sleeping bag.  And while they probably won’t be able to bring this particular one to market due to its level of complexity, take a look at today’s new releases and you’ll see that they’re not just flash in the pan ideas.

Case in point, this particular product has 6,300+ Facebook likes.  I don’t think all of Gadget Review’s Facebook Likes combined equate to a third of that, though that’s not really saying much.
