A microwave is one of those main appliances that make up a complete kitchen. It‘s great to have especially if you don’t like spending too much time preparing food, and if you get a good one, you might actually find yourself using it more than any other appliance. The NN-SN936 Panasonic microwave oven for example has a lot more uses than a regular microwave does, and at a price of about $160, it definitely won’t leave a huge hole in your wallet. The microwave uses inverter technology to make sure that your food gets evenly cooked, and with a capacity of about 2.2 cubic feet, it’s probably the best microwave to have in a family kitchen.

Why We Like It – Panasonic Microwave

The NN-SN936B Panasonic Microwave is an affordably priced countertop microwave oven that comes with 14 preset menu items for automatic sensor cooking, a keep warm feature, 1250 watts of power output and a child safety feature to keep your kids from messing around with it.

Power & Performance

The Panasonic NN-SN936B boasts of a 1250 Watt power output, which puts it at par with the NN-SN97JS Panasonic Stainless Steel Microwave. Power output matters because the higher the wattage on your microwave, the faster it’ll be able to cook your food. The two microwaves can therefore be described as high power microwaves, and since they both also have the same 2.2 cu ft capacity, you’ll be able to deal with large quantities of food at once. Also worth mentioning is that both microwaves come with a genius sensor, where the microwaves detect the food you want to cook and apply the required power and timings to get the job done.

Durability

One of the major differences between the Panasonic NN-SN936B and the NN-SD94S microwave ovens is that the former is made out of Aluminum, and the latter has a stainless steel body. This is hardly a criteria that most people consider when choosing between which microwave to buy, but for those who care, the stainless steel body has a slight edge because it reduces the amount of microwave energy emitted out of the microwave. Both however are easy to clean.

Ease of Use

The touch key panel on the Panasonic NN-SN936B looks neat and well organized, and the layout is pretty similar to what you’ll find on its cousin, the Panasonic NN-SN686S stainless steel microwave. Above the touch-button control panel is a 4 digit display, where you should be able to see an image of a lock when the child lock feature is enabled. To have it switched on, you’ll just have to press the start button three times, while to switch it off, you press the stop button three times. You should check out the  BLACK+DECKER EM720CB7 Microwave Oven since it can defrost by either time or weight.

Additional Features & Versatility

Aside from its genius sensor cooking feature, one of the other features that the Panasonic NN-SN936B comes with is its turbo defrost technology, where the microwave does a faster job of defrosting or thawing your frozen foods. Also, once you’re done cooking a meal with it and haven’t yet gotten it out of the microwave, the microwave activates its Keep Warm feature where it emits low microwave energy just so that the food remains warm when you take it out.

Value

As a microwave that has a high power output, you might feel discouraged from buying it because of the implications that it might have on your electricity bill, but because it uses inverter technology to get your food cooked, the Panasonic NN-SN936B uses far less energy than a conventional microwave would. This is because it works by emitting a continuous stream of cooking power, which is more efficient compared to a regular microwave that would emit 100% power with pauses in between.

Panasonic Microwave Wrap Up

Available in either black or white, the Panasonic Microwave Oven NN-SN936B can also be mounted into your kitchen wall, but only if you purchase the right size trim kit. This would ideally be one that’s about 27 inches, so that there’s just enough space left around the microwave for it to “breathe”.
