Performance
The Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse is a strange creature, laying flat at first, only to curve into the general shape of a mouse. Believe or not, turning the device on has you doing the unthinkable: bending the mouse. This Microsoft mouse has two mouse buttons that are as responsive as ever, and the finger clicks can be customized through the Keyboard Center. Where’s the scroll wheel you ask? Why, the mouse is the scroll wheel. It’s touch sensitive and allows for both vertical and horizontal scrolling.
What we really liked was the lack of a USB nano receiver. If you’re using a Surface Pro, you know how limited USB slots are. It’s Bluetooth connection is strong, capable of reaching just under 33 feet. Unfortunately, it does use batteries, 2 AAA to be specific. They’ll last up to 6 months, but your mileage may vary.

Design
One of the biggest flaws of the Microsoft Surface Arc Mouse is its shape. It isn’t very ergonomic, nor supports a comfortable seating. It’s uncomfortable during long sessions, something the Apple Magic Mouse 2 suffers from. If you primarily work on a Surface Pro tablet, this is a non-issue as you’ll be doing the majority of your work on a touch screen. In that case, the mouse works well for more sensitive matters, and is good to have for “just in case” moments.
Value
For what it’s worth, the Microsoft Arc Wireless Mouse satisfies a niche group of individuals, specifically people who use the Surface Pro frequently. Because it can be flattened, it’s a good travel mouse to have on you, too. If you’re a gamer, this is not the mouse for you. That kind of need is better handled by the VicTsing MM057 (on a budget) or the Logitech M510. Furthermore, the lack of nano receiver means you won’t have to sacrifice a USB port for it; it’s entirely Bluetooth.
