You can handmix ingredients all day, but your cake, cream, or ingredients might not be mixed in the way they need to be. Ever bake a cake with unmixed ingredients? It doesn’t come out well. That’s what the KitchenAid KHM512GU can accomplish without so much effort, making it an ideal candidate as one of the best kitchen appliances to own.

Performance

For such a lightweight and compact hand mixer, the KitchenAid Ultra Power Hand Mixer Guava Glaze is surprisingly powerful—not quite like a stand mixer, but still strong. Its power comes from the speeds it has. Instead of just one, it has 5, making it versatile and open to whipping up various foods. For example, setting it to speed one is good for whipping up egg whites, while heavy cream would need something like speed five. It even paired nicely with a Dash DEC005BK by mixing up hard boiled eggs made by it.

Design

Another surprise was the KitchenAid Speed Ultra Power Hand Mixer’s build quality. It’s a rather hefty piece of hardware. Its build quality doesn’t appear cheap, even though it only weighs two pounds. Having dimensions of 8 x 3.5 x 6 inches also makes it easy to wield. What we really liked was the lockable swivel cord, which can lock into place, left or right, to avoid getting in your way. Unfortunately, it only comes bundled with lightweight beaters; heavy beaters are sold separately. Either way, they’re still stainless steel turbo beater accessories.

Value

For $80, you’ve got yourself a really great hand mixer, one that will help you approach ingredients easier than before as opposed to hand mixing. It’s powerful, accommodates several speeds, and has really good build quality. It’s a solid piece of hardware, there’s not doubt about that. Compared to other hand mixers, you’re getting a lot more value here. It’s also a really good companion to have when using an Instant Pot Duo 7-in-1. You’ll even save a bit of money with free shipping included.

KitchenAid KHM512GU Review Wrap Up

The KitchenAid KHM512GU is your one-stop appliance for mixing. It’s various speeds can handle a wide variety of ingredients, though we wish the heavy beaters were included for more unique meals. Still, its build quality is really good, and the swivel cord lock is a genius design choice. You don’t have to fight your mixer!
