If your office is where you spend a lot of your time, chances are you long for a comfortable desk chair. But of course, you’re also on a budget. It just so happens the HON Exposure is the best office chair that fits both those criteria: comfortable for long hours and easy on your wallet. If you want to give your office an antique feel, take a look at our review of the hand crank lamp too.

Why We Like It – HON Exposure

The HON Exposure sacrifices aesthetics to bank on the features that matter most: comfortability. And when you spend long hours at the office, this is the office chair you want. Pros
  • Lumbar support
  • Affordable pricing
  • High weight limit
Cons
  • Lacks a headrest

Performance

For a budget office chair, the HON Exposure is surprisingly comfortable. You might also want to read our Maxnomixc Chair review to compare options. Comfort is one thing, and back support is another. That’s why the Exposure computer chair has adjustable lumbar support. And that’s only one of its many adjustable functions. You can adjust the seat height (not seat width), seat depth, and adjustable arms. Just make sure to adjust the tilt lock once put together.

Design

Aesthetically speaking, the HON Exposure isn’t a looker, nor is it ugly. In fact, it looks like the majority of office chairs like the Steelcase Leap Chair. But aesthetics don’t make the chair; being a comfortable office chair does.

The HON Exposure comes in a variety of different upholstery. One available option is full leather. Another is a mesh fabric cushion and a mesh back. The final option is a mesh high-back with leather seat cushion. But all models lack a headrest. However, Herman Miller’s H4 Carbon headrest, originally made for the Aeron Chair, could work as a headrest, according to customer reviews.

Value

Given how breathable the HON Exposure is with its mesh seating, the pricing, and it being a really comfortable chair, the Exposure is one of the best budget items. This is especially true with its durability as well. It’s part hard plastic and metal construction give it plenty of longevity for a few years to come. And you can’t forget the pricing is a third of what Steelcase Gesture Chair is, and just over a fifth of the price of Herman Miller’s Embody Chair.

Wrap Up

The HON Exposure mesh task chair is a solid product that banks on being comfortable rather than being snazzy. Not only does it have oodles of different settings, it’s going to be good on your back with its lumbar support, above all. While it doesn’t come with a headrest, that can be solved with a cheap memory foam pillow if you’re strapped for cash. Even without the pillow, you’re getting one comfortable office chair.
