If you’re looking for an affordable action camera with great features, the Silver GoPro Hero7 is a fantastic choice. The Hero7 Silver sits between the GoPro Hero7 White and the Black model and may earn points for its versatility. The video camera can shoot in 4K at 30 frames per second and in 1080p at 60 frames per second. It’s cheaper than most of the alternatives on our best GoPro list

Why We Like It – GoPro Hero 7 Silver

The GoPro Hero7 Silver is a more affordable option to the top of the range GoPro Hero 7 Black but still comes with features like voice control, 4K video recording, full HD recording, and 10 MP still images. Both the image quality and video quality are excellent, and it’s also waterproof. If you want a smaller go pro, you should also read about how the GoPro adds the hero 4 session to slim things down.

Performance

The GoPro Hero7 Silver action camera offers good performance and can record video in either 4K at 30 frames per second, or at 1440p at 60 frames per second. The video stabilization ensures that all your footage is smooth and steady. It can also take vibrant pictures at 10 MP. The Hero7 Silver GoPro also features voice control, a photo timer, and has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. If you need an action camera with more features, the GoPro Hero8 Black is the best option available.

Design

Most GoPro Hero action cameras have the same look, and the Hero7 Silver continues the tradition. It looks very similar to the Hero7 Black, but the casing is a lighter shade of grey and it lacks the forward-facing monochrome LCD display. Compared to the Hero7 Black it also lacks the removable lens cover. Everything else is the same including the USB-C port. It has a large 2.0-inch touch screen that’s clear and easy to read, as well as a memory card reader. Compared to many action cameras like the GoPro Hero5 Black, the battery life is pretty good. It is also somewhat impact-resistant like the other GoPros, something you will want proven, which is why we have this video review to see if smash testing a GoPro is a good idea (video).

Value

The GoPro Hero 7 Silver comes at a lower price than the GoPro Hero 7 Black, but still manages to share most of its features. It can record 4K video and take clear 10MP pictures. It’s tough and durable and waterproof up to 10 meters. The Hero 7 Silver comes with voice control, as well as connectivity features like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. In our value review GoPro’s Hero 7 Silver got top marks because of its excellent balance of price and features.

GoPro Hero 7 Silver Wrap Up

For a camera that’s meant to be a budget version, the Hero 7 Silver is still very impressive. Both the picture and video quality are great, and it’s tough and durable. It also comes with voice control and connectivity features like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. There’s no front-facing LCD screen, but that shouldn’t make a difference to its core functionality.
