Using ExpressVPN means using a VPN Service with improving speed tests, a competent kill switch, and a proficient customer support page on the ExpressVPN website. Its diversity in server locations means many people around the globe can have a secure internet connection, even in those countries where online privacy doesn’t exist. No wonder it was named the best VPN.

Why We Like It – ExpressVPN

ExpressVPN is one of the most geographically diverse VPN providers on the market. ExpressVPN offers VPN servers in North America and Europe, ExpressVPN also offers VPN connections in South America and Africa and a speed test window to help you choose the best server for your internet traffic.

Pros
  • 160 diverse server locations across 94 countries
  • iOS app that supports OpenVPN
  • 30-day Money-Back Guarantee
Cons
  • Still reduces download speeds by 85 percent
  • Network Lock not available for iOS
  • Streaming Services like US Netflix will block it

Performance

A speed test window in the ExpressVPN app helps you pick the best server for your needs. ExpressVPN may not flaunt the fastest speeds, but speed tests in the new version show improvement in internet connection. Still, ExpressVPN servers reduce download speeds by 85 percent. If you’re looking for a faster VPN, you can’t go wrong with Private Internet Access. A DNS leak test correctly re-routes to the right location, but there is no IPv6 leak protection on the Android app. Customize your IP address and VPN location with one in a specific American city by selecting one from the list of US servers with the Express VPN app.  Though you won’t always experience fast speeds or quick download speeds like with other VPN services like Private Internet Access, you’ll at least be able to protect your privacy every time using Express VPN. But, compare ExpressVPN against CyberGhost to see which one is really better.

Design

All VPN protocols are included when you begin using ExpressVPN including a great kill switch that blocks apps from using the internet every time. VPN locations in South America and Africa mean support in areas that most other VPN providers either don’t support or scarcely support. The diverse range of server locations is a great feature while you use ExpressVPN, which also comes in handy for bypassing geographic restrictions set by streaming services in certain countries. ExpressVPN is offered for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android, and the iOS app also offers support for OpenVPN. However, certain settings, like the network lock, are not available for the iOS app. For users using an iOS phone, VyprVPN is a great alternative and one of the best VPN providers that are specifically good for iOS devices.

Value

ExpressVPN does gather info, according to its privacy policy, but never what the user did and never IP addresses. It cannot match IP addresses, which is something you want to hear. There is no free trial, but the company does have a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you’re not satisfied with using ExpressVPN and it hasn’t been 30 days since you purchased it, it’s as simple as that and you can get all your money back, so it’s worth a try. Though if you need customer support with VPN servers, the kill switch, IP addresses, etc., consider using the live chat support ExpressVPN offers. If you want to try a VPN for more than a month, Spotflux is a phenomenal choice for a free VPN. Unfortunately, not many devices are supported using ExpressVPN. Only three at a time. And due to their ongoing war with streaming services, Netflix will occasionally block it, like US Netflix in particular.  That’s why you’ll need to look into a better VPN for Netflix. Almost every VPN provider for Windows, Mac, iOS, and other devices may run into this issue at one point or another every once in a while.

ExpressVPN Wrap Up

Like almost every VPN provider, the company also allows P2P and torrenting. The ExpressVPN website also offers customer service via live chat support. Combining all this with 160 server locations across 94 countries, a smart kill switch, and a 30-day money-back guarantee that helps you get your feet wet, it’s easy to see why you should use ExpressVPN. It’s a great choice for new and experienced users alike. If you enjoyed this ExpressVPN review, check out our other VPN reviews focusing on other great VPN providers.
