Performance
Dr. Brown’s Newborn Pacifier proved to be your average run of the mill pacifier. And like all pacifiers, it’s a hit or miss depending on the child using it. However, we didn’t hold that against the pacifier. Kids who like the shape will take to it and those who don’t, won’t. It’s made of silicone and it’s very soft, making for a very comforting feel in the mouth. It’s also BPA free, dishwasher and sterilizer safe, which is such a great feature. It’ll ensure your child is sucking on germs leftover from the many falls it will definitely experience. Design
The design of Dr. Brown’s Newborn Pacifier takes ona rather generic nipple shape that you see in many pacifiers. For example, the shape of the pacifier is more natural on the NUK Orthodontic Pacifiers 5-pack. However, the shape around the pacifier is unique. Curves were added to prevent the pacifier from being crushed against your newborn’s nose and cheeks, unlike an Evenflo Feeding Balance Cylindrical Pacifier. It should be noted that if your child does not take it, it isn’t an issue with the pacifier, but rather your child simply not liking the shape. Value
For $5, we were really impressed by its performance but more importantly, its design. Too many pacifiers push on the noses and cheeks of babies. It sure isn’t anything fancy, no cute designs, and only comes in red and blue—but we think, overall, that it has great value. You get three pacifiers for $5, which is a better deal than the Philips Avent SCF190/01 Soothie 0-3mth. Who doesn’t love a deal like that? And if you discover that your child does not like the shape of the pacifier, losing out on $5 isn’t a big hit.
