You don’t have to look far for the best Nespresso machine to make yourself lattes, cappuccinos, and—if the name didn’t give it away—delectable espressos (though it doesn’t hurt to use the best coffee maker to brew your favorite beverage). The Nespresso Lattissima plus Milk Frother has you covered, capable of brewing cup after cup in rapid succession and top each one off with a layer of milk foam. For a more traditional espresso machine, read our Espressotoria Caprisita espresso review. Or, compare the DeLonghi with our Piamo espresso maker to make sure you’re making the right choice.

Why We Like It – Nespresso Lattissima Pro

De Longhi’s Nespresso Lattissima Pro espresso machine does a bang up job gelling together features, a slick design, and excellent performance, right at home. Speaking of excellent performance, you’ll love our radical pan review too. Pros
  • Heats up beverages quickly
  • Host of additional features
  • Excellent performance
Cons
  • Only accepts Nespresso pods
  • Expensive

Performance

To bring about the flavor of each cup, the expresso’s extraction system makes use of 19 bars of pressure. Pop a Nespresso capsule inside, choose your type of beverage—espresso lungo, ristretto, hot water, latte macchiato, cappuccino, or hot milk—and it’ll start right up. It takes about 25 seconds, depending on the drink, for the machine to do its work. That’s slower than the Nespresso Creatista Plus, but matches the speed of both the Nespresso CitiZ and Mueller Espresso Machine. Still, the coffee machine does all the work.

Design

With its stainless steel finish, the Nespresso Lattissima Pro looks like it came straight out of a coffee joint. The capsule system is located in the upper-left corner, which only accepts Nespresso capsules (a laser system scans barcodes). The milk container on the right holds up to 16 ounces. You’ll find the hot water spout behind the sliding door, located on the side of the espresso machine. If you need a nespresso machine that’s built for easy insertion and ejection of coffee pods, check out the Nespresso Vertuo And Milk Frother.

Value

At first glance, the Nespresso Lattissima Pro is expensive—and it certainly is. But consider this: Nespresso’s coffee capsules go for about 0.70 cents per pod. Would you rather pay .70 cents for your coffee drinks or twice to three times as much at some coffee shop every single day? It’s a lot to pay in at first, but you end up saving quite a bit of money in the long haul using espresso machines yourself. Nothing beats convenience, and the pricing reflects that.

Nespresso Lattissima Pro Wrap Up

The Nespresso Lattissima Pro is expensive, sure, but in return you get convenience. It’s your very own espresso machine that heats up beverages quickly, comes with additional drink options, and the option for milk frothing. While it’s a bummer that it only accepts Nespresso pods, their variety of flavors is quite extensive.
