The Artograph EZ Tracer Art Projector is a great little art projector for all the artists who need to magnify their art to correct small imperfections. But it’s mainly used for tracing purposes, as the name suggests. You just have to supply your own CFL/LED bulb. Coming in at a great price, the Artograph EZ Tracer Art Projector is without any doubt one of the best projectors for artists in this price range.

Performance/Resolution

It’s just a tracing projector, so there is no “resolution number” as such. But the clarity of the pictures comes out pretty sharp, and the focusing points are great as well. The sharp projection really helps with the tracing process.

Brightness/Lumens

Because you have to provide your own CFL/LED bulb, the brightness will entirely depend on the bulb of your choice. At max, you’re probably going to get 1600 lumens out of this tracing projector. It’s enough for a dark or dimly lit room. The ViewSonic 1080p Projector comes with a brighter and overall much better, inbuilt lamp. So, if you need a bright projector, go for the ViewSonic model instead. For a projector with 1800 lumens, try the Sony HW45ES.

Adjustability/Viewing Angle

You can easily adjust the magnification of a flat artwork from 2x to 10x on this art projector. The projector’s bottom has a 3 1/4 x 3 1/4″ opening that sits over the artwork to be transferred. You need to grid your original drawing in the dimensions mentioned above and leave the gridlines showing. It focuses the best from about 5~6 feet away.

Durability

The body of the Artograph EZ Tracer Art Projector is pretty cheaply made, and it’s fairly light. In terms of bulb support, it supports up to a 100w LED bulb (1600 lumens equivalent) and everything lower. It supports CFL bulbs too (up to 23w or anything below). But if you need something more durable from a reputed brand, get the Epson Home Cinema 1060. Alternatively, you can compare Acer vs BenQ projectors to see which of those brands is the best for you.

Value

At just above $40, the Artograph EZ Tracer Art Projector provides a lot of value for the money you spend. If you are an artist, you won’t be disappointed by this tracing projector. But you should also keep your expectations in check, considering the price. If you have a bit more money to spend on a projector, it might be worth upgrading to something more robust, like the AuKing Mini Projector, the Acer VL7860 projector, BenQ MH760 1080p business projector, or the PIQO 1080p smart mini projector instead.

Artograph EZ Tracer Art Projector Wrap Up

The Artograph EZ Tracer Art Projector is an excellent tracing projector that comes at a reasonable price. It is the cheapest projector that is worth buying in this range.
